How I did it: I seriously woke up one morning a week ago and was like "Screw this I want to cut my hair." I'd been growing it out for all the possibilies of grad hair-do's, but I graduated two months ago and was finding my hair to be super unmanagable, even though it wasn't even past my chest yet.
In this month's Cosmo, they show "fat-bottomed bobs" as the hip style. I wasn't sure that sounded that great to me, bbut they looked cute on the celebrities. Instead, I found this awesome picture of Jessica Stroup and her cute sort of whimsical bob and fell in love and a lot of hair envy!

I went to a new stylist, who ever would take me in that day, and was VERY clear about what I wanted. Though Jessica Stroup was my inspiration, I didn't want all the elements of her hair though I adored it. I think the key to really loving the haircut you end up with is being blunt and telling your stylist EVERY little detail. I wanted long layers, not short choppy ones (bad experience at age 14)  and I wanted my hair to be the same length as my bangs were pre-cut.
She did a FABULOUS job. She was my fairy godmother. I have never been so thrilled with a haircut (see display picture) and am surprised at how versatile it is. I can do tons with my bangs, curl it, make it "fat bottomed" or nice and sleek, it's AWESOME. Read how I did it… 21 months ago
