i dont know why, but i can never get myself to finish this project. i’m always really busy. i think because I joined the gym and that eats up a lot of the time i used to have sitting around the house. plus, now when i have time i usually either practice the guitar or magic tricks. i’m not going to beat myself up over this though, because one person can only do so much. so i’m just going to do this whenever the mood strikes me.

i haven’t done shizz with this lately. i did draw more of the 3rd cartoon i started, but that’s it. i got a lightbox so i could transfer the drawings from the graph paper i’ve been using to bristol board, but the stupid light makes me nauseous! i get totally dizzy and sick. so i am loathe to work on it. i’m going to have to try to figure out another way. maybe i should see if i were to mute the light somehow if that helps…or would wearing sunglasses be a ridiculous idea? haha…
so i’ve finished drawing 2 cartoons and started on a third. i have to ink the first two still. i bought bristol board the other day at AC Moore, so I’m going to lightbox my original drawings onto that and then ink them. then i’ll scan them and send them off.
Ever since I was little I loved cartoons…although every little kid does. And I love drawing. So I’m going to an art college when I get out of high school to do what I love most. :D
I have almost finished 1 complete little cartoon about the woes of standing behind tall people at concerts. It came out ok. I think I drew it really well, but I also think the concept could have been portrayed better. During my normal 9-5 job, I’ve been writing down ideas and drawing rough sketches for other ideas I have. I’ve decided I’m going to set aside Friday afternoons to draw cos I’ll be getting home early from work. (Summer hours). Also, once I get some finished products, I’m going to submit them to a feminist rag I know about that is just getting itself started, but looks like it could turn into a full-fledged magazine one day.
As a child, I wanted to be a cartoonist and no other career interested me. Then I talked to the guidance counselor who said, “Yeah… I don’t know anything about that. Think of a new dream and I’ll tell you all about that…. As long as it’s normal.” After that I lost hope and only recently has this desire been resurrected.
I wanna be a cartoonist like nearly most of us do ,id rather be a MANGA or ANIME cartoonist ,than any other type because MANGA RULES !!!!...:p
Doodles have been filling the margins of my notebooks and I’m starting to settle in on some “reflexive” drawings; the kind that come easily, are consistent and interesting looking.
Not quite ready for a theme/cast of characters. Still in the “organic” phase.
Actually, ‘GRAPHiC NOVELiST’iS MORE OF WHAT i’M GOiNG FOR. YES, THAT WOULD BE SWELL.

“Does anyone know any good schools where you can get an art degree that would help with cartooning? Or even a degree in cartooning/animation??”
