This project is coming to a close.

I`ll finish one of the pictures that was started and do something else.

A poor day; too irritable and depressed to work.

Will start a series of the bridge tomorrow.

Some of the paintings in the studio now seem lame, uncharismatic. Important to remember that successfulp paintings are the exception not the rule, and to keep going with more cheerfullness. 4 years ago

A good day: two paintings finished.

I shall decalre them finished because I think if I work on them more I’ll spoil them. It’s better to err opn the “sktch” side of things than the “over cooked” side. 4 years ago

I really love painting the sea. It’s incredibly relaxing ad the sea is beautiful; it’s rythms very soothing.

I shall go in the afternoon. In about five days I should have some images to post. 4 years ago

A difficult week, dogged by illness and rotten weather.

This seems to have turned and the weekend is completely free, so I should at least make a little progress then. 4 years ago

This is going well, with two paintings on the go; a new one begun today, whcih will be finished at the weekend, I think.

I think I will go over to Lagoa for the next picture- it makes a change- and leave the pictures at a friend’s house while I’m working on them. 4 years ago

Yes, done it…

...the sea in monochrome, a big picture too 60×50 cm, painted from life on Beiramar Avenue.

Funny how easy some things are when, having thought and, indeed, procrastinated about them, you finally do them.
