I saw this video and figured 4 basic cords might not be to bad to start with. Plus it’s a great song.

How I did it: It's very simple. I think there are just three chords, and a bit of strumming. It sounds good even if you play it way too slowly, but speeding up doesn't take much effort either. I took guitar lessons for six months or so then abandoned it. I managed to master Good Riddance, but my other songs were all pretty rough. Read how I did it…

I decided that it sounds prettier when I use my fingers to finger pick it… but gah its so hard. How does on get fingers to move deep enough and not touch all the other strings. Its soo much easier using a pick.
well I can now strum the whole song and sort of sing the words (I’m not any good but I can multi- task). I shall assume this is completed when I can do the fingerpicking with at least a pick though… its hard but its definitely getting easier.
I’m an absolute complete beginner with the guitar, you know how most people say that and don’t mean it. I actually mean it! I picked up the guitar for the first time two days ago.
I would love to be able to play this song, I’ve got the introduction and the verse… sort of, just need the rest and practice. I love having a guitar hanging around the place :)
