BTW, anyone interested in becoming a light attendant should download the podcast ‘betty in the sky with a suitcae’ (I think that’s the name!) It’s the podcast of a flight attendant. It’s quirky and informative and funny. It’s not just about Betty but also stories from other attendants too and it’s a must listen for anyone thinking of getting into this job! Betty will make sure you realize it’s not just about the travel perks lol.

Went through the open house audition like proces and lengthy interview and received a rejection letter that politely yet bluntly stated how unqualified I am compared to my competition. lol. Tear. But I figured as much, I’m not the most out going person, not the most pysically strong person, not a person fluent in 3 or more languages, and don’t have my college degree! I will most likely go for this job again. The opportunity doesn’t come around often anyway. In the mean time, I need to work on making myself up to standard!!!
Hello Everybody…
I am a newbie here and believe me, this site has superly helped me burn the gasoline and run the engine at three-thousand!!! I wonder if anybody would share with me his/her experience and perhaps critics and suggestions… Apart from feeling curious and confused, the measure of my hope shows a critical level… HICK HICKS…
I have been sending applications to various airlines companies and I keep receiving negative responses (turned down). From the impossibility to proceed with my application to not planning any recruitment days until the upcoming six months. I try to make conclusion of the answers to the why… Could it be my nationality? I am currently a permanent residence in Italy with valid work permit but my passport is still Indonesian passport). Or could it be that I have never gone through firefight, first aid, and those kinds of trainings that are usually required?
I am 22-years-old, physically presentable (163 cm – 48kg), and I am experienced in Customer Care and Service (from Assistant of Maìtre to Education Consultant). I hold a degree in Information Technology, other diplomas and certificates, I speak five languages and right now I am doing accredited courses in French and Spanish as well. I am scratching my brain thinking of what is wrong with my CV… UWWUUAAAHHHHH… At least I would want to prepare myself to be much more qualified before the next recruitment annoucement…
I was thinking about cabin crew training, but would it only be a waste of money…? I read some articles about the training and I extracted more disadvantages compared to benefits… Would the training help assure a position for the interview…? I am ready for everything that might come up but definitely not twenty turn-downs in a row…
Is it right for me to be thinking about my newfound dream like 24/7. I am always thinking about this for real. I have been looking on blogs and videos anytime I go on my laptop. I have also been researching short courses that I am going to do before I apply for jobs.
My dad doesnt have a problem with it but I know for a fact that he is not convinced that I am going to do this. I have also been thinking about makeup that I am gonna wear with my uniform and all of that. I just need to start working out alot more. I have been praying about it so I know that if I stay faithful to God…He will bless me.
Maybe I should stop thinking about it so much and just try to occupy my mind with other stuff like my diet progress. Anytime I think about actually getting a job, it just seems like a long time away. Ok I am not going to update this goal until I get down to under 180 lol evil but possible and makes me wanna work my ass off to get to under 180 so that I can vent.
I am 17 years old and I will be turning 18 in April. I have decided to become a flight attendant. I have always admired this job and I also love to travel alot. I am going to do this for a few years then I will attend university. I am tired of not deciding on the course that I would like to do so the best thing for me now is to work. I have met all the requirements apart from my weight being in proportion to my height. I am 5’3 and I weigh 188lbs. I have to lose at least 50lbs by the summer. I also have to take a course which isnt compulsory but I just want to be the best. To become a flight attendant I have to
-Lose at least 50lbs
-Take a short cabin crew course
sondralleno is creating her list. :)
some people hate growing a year older. i used to feel that way but now its different. i’m looking forward for my 21st birthday because it would make me a viable candidate to be a professional frequent flier. i sure do hope that things would go my way. i pray for it everyday. :)

Which is sort of random for me. The desire to be a flight attendant isn’t new but the motivation to pursuit it is. I have already applied to american eagle and air tran – and already was rejected. (For have far more experienced competition). Fair. Now I think is my time to apply for the mere ticket taker job at the airport, learn french and russian, perfect my spanish, and get my passport. That should make me 50% more experienced. Oh yes and I need to start lifting weights. A 20 pound suitcase lift as of now might break me.
One of my dream in life is to have a job that pays ME to travel the world. Flight attendant! Duh…
I have a friend who’s a first year airline and he never complains to me, he really loves it. And he’s been to 26 countries in the last year, has his picture with some live anime character in japan, dancers in polynesia, the eiffal tower in paris, and some unrecognizable elements is other random countries. AH i know he works real hard and is lonely going to these fabulous places with just his coworkers, but he’s luckyyy.
greenforlife is content.
So I still think this would be a great experience… but I don’t think it’s my calling at the current time. I don’t know what my “calling” is lol but I don’t have quite the drive to do this anymore like I used to… So at least temporarily… I am giving up this goal.
ChannyB eating... yummm
