Organize my bedroom

Your home truly is your castle. And you deserve to
make your home a place that brings you serenity and
good feelings, 24 hours a day.

A long time ago, I learned the “Doll House” method™
of making a place into what you really want it to
be.

This is because I had a playhouse built in the
back yard. I had it painted, and I put in tile on
the floor myself (about 64 squares of stick-on
tile – it made a big difference in the place).

Even when my home had too much clutter, I refused
to let the playhouse have ANY clutter. I put the
cutest kid-sized comfy chairs in it, plus some
colorful kid-sized tables from Ikea. I added
lamps, a bookcase, a cute rug, a fold-out chair-bed,
and a tiny TV set.

The place was the no-clutter-zone and it
made me feel happy to look at it! It still does!
It helped me to realize that at heart, I was
a spartan soul who liked ORDER and no clutter
whatsoever! And I know you like order too!

Later I decided to try the “doll house” technique
in my own home. I would take one room at a time
and make sure it only had what was needed or pleasing
to the eye – and not one bit of clutter in sight.
It works wonders!

This requires that you have take away the things which
are making any sort of clutter – and put them somewhere
else for the time being. That way, your home can be
your beautiful “doll house.”

Then, when you have time, systematically go through your
clutter. It will eventually be conquered!

My room is now clean enough that I can begin the sorting process. Lots of purging—and LOTS of dust!! My goal next weekend is to begin to tackle the closet.

Well, the laundry is folded and put away. I am going to take the room by sections. Tomorrow’s job will be to sort through the odds and ends of Christmas decorations that just ended up in the bedroom by default. Have to just start somewhere!!

I finally got my room organized. My daughter helped me for a few hours yesterday because I can’t do the lifting and carrying, and I finished up today! Whoopeee! All this space!

I am going to really bust my butt and get this room organized today. No more putting it off, I am just going to get it done. Then I am going to dust and sweep, and call this goal complete. If I don’t get it done today, then I will tomorrow, but still, it is going to get done!

I’m always cleaning my room because it always becomes messy after i clean it.

I finished all of my dusting today and got my computer desk and dresser switched around. My computer was in front of the a/c so it got too cold to sit at the desk. I like the layout of my room better now! And having all of the dusting done is great! We swept the floors and gathered up most of the trash and recycling and have a handful of things to take out to the garage. If we do that and get the laundry done, my room will be completely clean for once in what seems like years. I am truly excited to be this close to being done.

For some reason, I like keeping staff even if I don’t use them. so my room is really in a huge mess.

Few weeks ago I got rid of my high school books & papers and just kept few of them as a memory. I used to keep them for our family members who will be in high school in the next few year, and might need to use them. Since that the educational system changed, the books are useless, so I was able to throw them without any feeling of guilt.

Now I’m working on my college papers. I don’t want to throw them until I graduate, so I got some of those paper boxes and filled one of them with the papers. I’ll keep it in the reading room.

For the CDs, I’ll keep them all in a file instead of boxes or cd bags. I have alot of those cd refill pages, I think they are much flexible than boxes or bags.

What I’m done with so far are the electronics & cables drowers. Still have to work with the clothes, CDs, books, papers, magazines and many other staff.

So, I am actually almost done cleaning my room! I got my husband to take 6 boxes out of our room that was full of stuff we didn’t need in here. And you know, I still think there is a lot of stuff we need to take out of this room. We honestly don’t use anything up here other than clothes, the bed, the lamps and the computer, so it could be all cleaned out and I probably wouldn’t think anything of it.

Anyway, my goals for today is to get the dusting done, switch around the dresser and computer desk, sweep and put away the rest of the laundry. I think I can get that done!

I actually did some work on my room and am proud to say that my closet is clean! I even worked out a storage system that allows us to keep more things organized in the closet. Now, I boxed up a lot of stuff to try and sell later and I just need to get my husband to move them out into the garage for me. I think I have 5 or 6 boxes all filled up! I am really excited. I am hoping to get the boxes out today and then put away all of the stuff that we accumulated from trucking and get the dusting and sweeping done. Might even throw the sheets and comforter in the wash. I already have most of my laundry washed, just need to put it all away. I am really happy that I am getting cleaning done. I don’t really want us to be home all the time, but if we are going to have to, I at least want to have a place that I can sit around and feel at peace. And I am well on my way to having that.
