apteryx is back in Bloomington
We walked through the gate into the parking lot just behind a car that was entering legitimately (we assume), past the sign that said “No Trespassing”. Then we walked the boardwalk surrounding the building and peeked in all the windows, ignoring the additional signs that said “No Trespassing” and “No Tours”. The Carson Mansion is now owned by The Ingomar Club: the club for the richest people in Eureka, costing $2000 per year and open only to the socially connected. A cop saw us as we started walking off the front porch and asked if he could help us. I said, “No, we’re just going now.”
