Still waiting

I had a call to come fill an empty slot, but it was on a night when I couldn’t make it. He promised he would call me again. I’m so excited. I love doing fun stuff. Doing it at half price is even better!

Bob from Balloon Adventures just left me a message. I’m officially on their stand-by list and he will give me a call when they start back up in the spring. I’ll get to fly half price!

One of the hot air balloon groups here in Cincinnati has a stand-by program. If you live within half an hour of the airport and are willing to be flexible and come down when their flight isn’t full, you can fly half price! I just signed up. I can’t wait (though I’m hoping for a slightly warmer day than today)!

sonjaebling is fed up with her reasons for not pursuing her goals.
I would love to see the colors and world below me from a hot air balloon, I don’t care what season it is… and maybe we could soar even over the ocean….

In my neighborhood we see a lot of Hot Air Ballons in the sky
and I would dearly love to be up, up, up in the air in one.

For someone that deals with a fear of heights issue, this was excruciating. Fortunately, it was one of those free flights, so we didn’t get to travel, but rather went up to the top of a tether (approximately seventy point three billion miles into the air) and looked down on everyone waving at us.
I did it and I didn’t 1) vomit 2) fall out 3) die 4) fall out 5) get sick or 6) fall out.
I don’t think that the poor owner has gotten the death grip I bent into the metal railing on his basket out yet. I doubt he ever will. But dang it, I did it.
If heights aren’t an issue for you, I’m sure this would be an absolutely fantastically lovely experience. If they are, let me be the first to assure you – people that love heights need someone on the ground waving at them to make the experience complete. Really, they do. I have no problem being that person from this point on.

It was awesome!!
Want to do it again!!

I read about an annual hot-air balloon festival in Sedona, AZ held in October. That would probably be something to shoot for. I still need to find out the costs for the hot air ride as well as the overall trip.
