Every once in a while, I’ll pop in a DVD or power walk home, but that’s it. My goal is to work out consistently (at least 3x a week) for a year.
How to exercise consistently
How I did it: When I was younger (in high school and earlier) I really enjoyed physical activities... like I was always riding my bike and a part of a lot of sports teams, but since graduating high school none of it has been fun because I've had trouble finding competitive teams for the sports I've played. I thought I stopped enjoying all this stuff, but it turns out I just needed to try new things. Once I found a grown up "sport" that I enjoyed, it was easy to do it the majority days of the week.
Lessons & tips: Do whatcha enjoy!!
And don't be afraid to try new activities... you may be surprised to find you actually enjoy things.
Resources: My aerobics teacher. ;D

For three weeks now I have worked out for two hours a day four times a week. This isn’t challenging enough anymore so I’m going to add another day, but I do think this is now a habit rather than a struggle because I feel such a difference on the days I do not exercise. I cannot imagine skipping a work out now! :)
PS: Totally worth it. I haven’t lost any weight (which is okay, because I’m at a very health ~100 lbs at 5’1”), but my focus is better, I’m stronger, and my balance has improved. :-)
mch5683 is having a fabulous day!
I am currently doing Hip Hop Abs…I love this workout. It’s fun and you can definitely see and feel results. I have committed to 6 days/weekly.

I have been consistently exercising since I’ve been out of work so I’m going to mark this one complete.
I’ve been running/walking on the treadmill for at least an hour a day plus I have hired a personal trainer to help me with strength training once a week.
I finally realized that I could find lap swimming plans on the internet. Now, all I need are some plastic covers to keep from destroying the printed plans and head to the pool. My goal is once this week, maybe twice. Then, start the official five-week plan next week (four days a week for five weeks).
My back up plan is to go dancing once a week. This can be in lieu of one night of swimming in the coming five weeks, or as a continuation of exercise once the swimming tapers off (because, let’s face it, I always taper off when I get bored or tired).

I’ve gone to the gym Monday and Tuesday before work. Hopefully I can fit in another day or two this week.
I think accountability, not just to another person, but to yourself, is so important. I mean, if I thought I could actually accomplish this, I’d be doing it, right? But since I’ve tried and failed, I think I can’t be consistent. They say if you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit. Maybe if I could do even every other day for that long, I’d get hooked….who knows…
as in… not four mornings one week and only one morning the next. maybe 3 times a week—every week?
