How to grow my hair really long, then cut it really short
It made me
very happy!

How I did it: I had short hair from 7th grade through 10th grade. I stopped getting it cut and let it grow out to about mid-back length, just below my shoulder blades at its longest. I moved from Austin, TX to New York City back in August to go to college. The day before my recent 19th birthday I decided I needed a change (as if moving 2000 miles from home wasn't enough). So I called up the Beehive Salon in Brooklyn and made an appointment for later the same day. I didn't tell anyone I was getting my hair cut, I just went and did it. Sort of a birthday present to myself. I got at least a good 8 inches of hair chopped off and I am SO glad I went through with it! I LOVE my new haircut! I don't know how I ever let it get so long. yeah well i was made too grow my hair really long always…but i have always wanted short hair so one day i just went into the bathroom and chopped it. It was a bit above my bell button but i cut it up to my ears. I put in some random cuts here and then and it did the job. It was the best fun as well.

So I’ve grown out my hair long and donated it to Locks of Love twice. It’s nice to know someone will get use out of my hair. I do miss my long hair though. Luckily it will grow back in 2 years.

I just cut 8 inches off of my long hair to a bob length cut and it feels great! It felt good to not worry what other people would think about it and do it because I wanted it.
