doubtful. but i’m always listening to my ipod and thinking wow, this song could go great in that one, that sound and this beat could totally change this song, etc etc. i’ve made several playlists, and each song flows (IMO) really well into the next. but to actually mix? too much money, too much time. but hey; my other goals are be more confident and less lazy, so we’ll see.

DJ School in NYC 4 years ago

I’m thinking about, like seriously thinking about going to DJ School in January. The class meets for 6 weeks, and costs 300$. Mind you, I have minimal experience with turntables. I have maximal(that’s exageratey, but wha-evs) experience with enjoying and adoring the beats that go boom boom. I mean, I’ve dreamt about mixing Arabic/Daisy/central Asian inspired housey music with long-riffed live Grateful Dead and even Phish musics. I enjoy scratching, well, the sound of it, ‘specially Qbert styles, and this class is actually at a ‘scratch’ based school. Now, 300$ for this class, or put that 300$ towards some equipment? Obvi. there’s gonna be the usual, and ever-annoying fronting and “keeping it real” fronting that surrounds this sceney scene, but I’ve overcome that a lot. It makes me stay truer to me, and works positively now-a-days. I need to research equipment now, and set myself a 3 month goal so that when the class is over, should I decide to take it, I would be well equipped with some decent medium and a couple of records. Sorry “vinyls”. Okay. Goal 1, in motion.
