ynobe0 IS about action right now
For me, being late for work shows that I’m either distracted, lazy, bored at my job. I figure that I need to remember that I am where I am for a reason and no matter how interesting or not a task may be I should take satisfaction from completing it and doing it well, even if it is only to show up on time to work. I guess, I need to just see the value in everything.

being late...
okay so in all reality what I need to be working on is not being late period. It’s not just work – although that has become chronic – but other places too. But not school, I have no problem being on time for school. I read a reference to being a “time optimist” and that makes sense to me – not having a realistic sense of the actual amount of time it takes to complete a task and therefore not allowing adequate time to move from one task to the next…. hmmmm. Second thought, I’ll keep this goal. I figure if I can manage to change whatever it is that I need to change that will enable me to arrive on time for work then I’ll move on to my next goal which hopefully won’t have anything to do with being late…..

Galina AUD: Passed!!! BEC: taking on 5/20/09
I have been doing wonderful!!! What I think has helped me is the following: a busy schedule. In my opinion, the busier one’s life is, the better organized she/he becomes because she/he such so much to do and so little time to get behind on things.
This has worked for me so far. I am now always on time for work in the office. Being on time for a client has never been a problem for me but now I even manage to come a little bit earler and wait for my co-workers instead of running like a chicken with my head cut and being late :O)
I am going to monitor my progress on this goal for the next two weeks, and if everything goes smoothly, then I will mark this goal as complete. I just cannot wait to do so :O)

I was late 4 days out of 5 last week :(
The only day I was not late was because I had to go work at a client’s location, and I am never late when it comes to clients.
What can I say? It is bad.

So, after a week of trying to come to work on time, I am ready to post the results. Out of 5 days, I was a few minutes late twice. It is not bad compared to being late daily, but I would like to always be on time. I will continue working on this goal, and post back in a week.

I am giving myself a month, that is until the very end of May, to kick this bad habit of mine.
I have been with my current employer for 9 months by now. I was always in the office by 8 a.m. and even earlier for the first several months. Then I realized that lots of my co-workers would come in to work later than I did. That’s when my bad habit of being late too started.
Do not get me wrong, I am always, always on time when we work at a client’s site. I only come in late when I have to work in the office. I am normally 15-20 minutes late. Not a big deal, many will say. To me, it is.
We are not monitored at work as to when everyone comes in and leaves. We are professionals and thus trusted to do the right thing. Still, I would not like to be perceived as someone who cannot even make it to work on time. So let’s see if I can kick this bad habit, which might help my other goal, Manage my time better, a lot.

Just a matter of getting up at least 45 minutes earlier. Ties in with my other Thing to Do – getting up at 8 and going to bed by 11.30pm
