purplefibermom feels hung-over even though I didn't drink anything last night
this goal was really simple. It was just a matter of making a choice to drink something else – usually water. I have noticed the lack of choices at many events – but water is usually available.
Thank you team for sticking together for the whole year. Yippee!

Des is slowly regaining her sanity (unfortunately?)
I’m glad this is done. It wasn’t too hard, since I didn’t drink pop more than once a month on average anyway before this goal, but there were a couple of times that I did have to deny myself at inconvenient times. But now it’s done, and congrats to everyone who accomplished it together!

Deni H is a master's degree student! WOW!
I’m glad that I did this, because I really do not like most soft drinks any more. I’m happy with what I did for this goal, and feel like it’s been worth it in the long-run.

Julie Can't wait to start over...
And succeeded! I do not buy soda at all.. Forbidden!! In our house we have water, fresh brewed tea, gatorade and milk in the refrigerator. I know it sounds boring… But, it is alot healthier than drinking soda.
When I was in 3rd grade.. My teacher did an experiment with us. A classmate had lost his tooth so she put the tooth in Coca-cola. In 3 days the tooth was decayed and almost gone!!!!! Can you imagine what it is doing to your bones??

I am so happy that I’ve stuck with this. I just read an article today on WebMD that says drinking 1 soft drink a day can increase your risk of developing Metabolic Syndrome by 50%.
A little more than 2 weeks left to check off as done, but a lifelong habit firmly in place for good!

that we have LESS THAN A MONTH left for this goal??? Wow! I’m excited about it, because in this year I truly have learned to live without them for the most part. I don’t like a lot of soft drinks any more, and I’m thrilled for that result. That was what I was trying to do with this goal in conjunction with breaking my caffeine addiction.

I was about to mark this goal off, but after reading Deni H entry I will wait until January 2nd to do it. I am doing good in this but I have to admit that I am not a 100% perfect when it comes to these drinks, let’s say I am between a range of (90 – 99)%

less than two months away from completing this goal. I’m excited. I hope that Des will let me check this one off on January 3, 2008. I think I’ve definitely gotten in the habit of drinking other things, and have found out when I’ve had to make exceptions that I generally still do not like that many varieties of soft drinks. I plan to keep them extremely limited after this goal is checked off.

Ellie is currently working on goals 3, 4 and 6
to mark this goal off. I know I’ll be having them again – just not a lot, like before I took this up really – maybe even a bit less. I don’t like refusing myself this totally. I like to have the option.
