Has anyone ever seen Desk Set (1957)? It’s a Katherine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy film—the movie itself isn’t important, but in the film, Bunny (Hepburn) has a plant in her office. She’s been working there as the head of the research department (it’s funny; the reference ladies are like the human google—they use books! it’s so dated, now, that it’s really cute and funny) for so long that it’s grown and grown. The super-long vine is hung around the entire perimeter of her office space. I love itttt.
There are a few references to it throughout the movie and I really loved it. I want one. I want a giant plant that’ll serve no other purpose other than for me to be able to say, “Yeah. That plant? I’ve kept it watered for 15 years now. I’ve a real green thumb. (:”

I got a plant today. I picked it because it was cute. It’s a baby aloe plant that I have named ella. She’s very small but the perfect size for a windowsill. Hopefully I won’t water her too much. Yay!

I don’t know what kind of plant to get. It would have to like living inside, and be okay with heat and sunlight as I’m living in FL right now. Something that grows big would be nice, I don’t mind re-potting. I guess I’ll have to look around…

I went to 1 nursery, 1 Home Depot, 2 Lowe’s, and called about 3 other places in search for a bonsai. The roadside place has not been seen again. I found my new little tree at the last Lowe’s I went to for $9.97 each. They had about 10 of them. I may even get a second one. I don’t have a name for it yet. What should I name it?

I passed by a place on the side of the road that had a bunch of bonsai trees for sale. I just kept driving and thought, “oh I should stop and get one!” But by then it was too late and I couldn’t turn around. If I see it again, I’ll stop.
i messed up and put the pic on this post and i can’t get it off…sorry

I recently adopted two jade plants from my Dad (who unintentionally breeds the damn things like it’s goin’ outta style), which I named Audrey and Audrey2. I also picked up a bamboo plant from Target (because I hear they are good luck—especially for new houses!), which I aptly named “Fu.” (the Chinese word for ‘luck’)
