re-roof the house

Not sure how much the various bits o’ rot will cost over the estimate but, yay!

Glad we did it now and didn’t wait until things started leaking. And it looks very nice. Consider the picture. The new venting should make everything much cooler – we’ll see in the first hot days!

there’s been some sort of screw up (of course) about the venting.

I don’t claim to understand. I don’t have to. I got married so I could avoid understanding things like roof venting.

Serious conversations with much pointing and brow furrowing are expected for tomorrow.

But the red color does look really nice. And the fancy gutters were totally worth the extra $200.

Yes there was some. But not as much as one feared.

No word on how much this will add to the already intimidating price tag.

Right now they still think they’ll be done by Saturday. I am wildly skeptical of this.

Wow! That’s loud. I’m not loving this.

Feeling a bit intruded on and trapped and having the in laws in town is not helping either!

Week of May 9th.

I was a very good wife and didn’t argue about wanting red tiles when the tannish ones were nice too. Even though roofs really should be red.

Now to keep watching the stocks. We’re getting close to a sell point. I’d like it to make it to 30 but…....

Ooh! New gutters too – and the fancy kind! And gutter screens!

Now we need to schedule it, pick a roof color, and sell a kidney.

Discussion and decision tonight!

Have called 4 roofers, one of whom gave us an estimate last year, which we couldn’t afford then.

2 people coming within the week and the people from last year will just send us an update for this year.

Time to get doing!

Must be done this year. Should have been done last year.

So does anyone know what time of year you’re actually supposed to call roofers to get estimates for a big project? Right now everyone’s busy fixing leaks and tiles that blew off in yesterday’s storm…..
