Sitting still 2 years ago

I should change this goal to “sit still, quietly” every morning for a month. My daily runs currently serve as my meditation, but I would still like to try a sitting meditation. The few times that I have tried it, it has been very difficult. Difficult to stay seated…difficult to clear the mind…The challenge of it is one reason why it is still on my list…besides obvious health benefits.



My first attempt 3 years ago

My wife purchased me a crescent zafu and sheepskin rug for Valentine’s Day. On Saturday morning, I woke up early before the light of day and I sat quietly thinking of nothing. The session wasn’t all that long, perhaps 10 minutes or so. It felt good to begin this exercise of the mind.
