How I did it: I did a blended program from a top 50 ranked MBA program so I could work and attend school. The first year I took prerequisites at community college. This really isn't required unless you are doing an on-campus full time program. I would skip it next time. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Took the GMAT, completed a lengthy and multi-faceted application, and got into the school. I started school part-time so that I could continue gaining work experience while I was in school. After a while, I left my job to finish school full-time, and got it all done in 2 1/2 years. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I filled out the application, didn't have to take the GMATs because I had at least a 2.5 GPA from undergrad (this was great because I am horrible at those tests) and applied to Nova (in south fl), which had a rolling admission. I started my first class in January and worked full time at the same time. It took so long because I also got a graduate certificate in MIS (management information systems) and I had to take just about … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Because I was doing it through the Executive Program and NYIT, I needed a lot of money. My company provided education reimbursement so I had to spread it out over 5 years b/c of the IRS caps. It ended up costing me $26,000 and didn't increase my salary at all. I always wanted to complete my Masters so I did it for self-satisfaction and not for financial gain. It was 100% online and I absolutely LOVED the program. Read how I did it…
How I did it: 1. Took GMAT2. Used the MBA game plan, 50 essays that made difference to plan and write my essays3. spent 160 hours per application4. got admitted. Read how I did it…

I’m ready for Tuesday’s presentation for the HR paper.
We’re doing an exciting presentation on Talent Management, based on a Marcus Buckingham paper.
One of the things that excites me about HR is how badly it is often done – so much opportunity for improvement!

although I’m finding the study a struggle… 2 more papers & I get my certificate & am tempted to stop there. I really don’t want to give up my summer to study accounting & economics (nothing personal)
Nettro1 is kick'n back
Well I thought I would be finished with my MBA by now. Unfortunately I had some trouble with kidney stones. A little pain turned into 4 surgery’s, 4 months out of work, and a pause in my MBA program.
I’m back in class (online) and loving it. I hope to be completed sometime early in 2010. This is definitely worth doing. In my next update I’ll explain why-

Got through week 2 of lectures & enjoyed it!
I was a bit grumpy last night though – with all my readings & leaving it all to the last minute.
I promise to be better organised next week.

I had a group assignment, individual assignment & a final exam this week!
I really wonder if I want to finish my MBA… I might investigate cutting down to 1 paper per semester so I can really focus on what I need to… shouldn’t the end result be about quality learning rather than stamina?
Some great podcasts at Harvard Business Review Ideas Cast if anyones interested…
Halfway done! I did manage to get a B in my course, so my GPA is still nice and healthy.
Still on course to graduate in the spring of 2011.
ablack415 has moved into her new house!!
I have about 1/2 way through my first MBA class and I have loved absolutely ever minute of it. It is 100% online, but I’m not in the MBA program for financial gain. I am really in it for my personal growth and to help my company. My business is 100% online as well, so it works out for me perfectly as I can’t take time off work to complete school.
Only two more weeks, and I’ll be halfway to my goal! This semester has proved the hardest; I’ll be lucky to manage a B in this class.
Despite a previous entry, I am taking a summer course, but that’s because it’s an every-other-saturday course, and it meets for 5 hours on 4 saturdays, and then you’re done. At least that way I won’t be spending two evenings a week of my summer in class when I could be at a cook out, and the Saturday classes are over by noon!
