The boyfriend gave me the last chunk of change for the camera and we bought it last night at Cardinal Camera (http://cardinalcamera.com/)!
Although I went in for a Nikon, I came our with the Olympus E-410 ( http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1294). I got the body and two lenses (14-42mm f3.5-5.6 and 40-150mm f4.0-5.6), but no accessories. They put together a couple accessory packages for me, but I wanted to scrounge around my parents’ places for any leftover bags, memory cards, etc. first :)
The shop said they plan on having an Olympus rep in soon to give a tutorial on the E410 which will be great to go to. Also, they gave me a coupon good for one free CD and two free prints (4×6 and 8×10) each month for a year. Awesome!
I seriously don’t think I’ve ever waited this long for anything. I was getting a little frustrated, but it finally happened ( thanks, Jase :* ). The coolest part is that so many of my family and friends chipped in for this camera on my birthday. And how will I be repaying them? By forcing them to model, of course! :) :) :)
I’m so glad to get this goal off of this list!

This is hard
I’m having trouble not getting frustrated with this one. It always seems like there’s something.
Right now, I’m at $552 and I moved the money into a high-interest account.

I had to use some of this savings for my son’s summer camp and for my dog’s lodging while we were on vacation. So, I’m back down to $500.

This is TORTURE.
Maybe I’ll look for an extra mini job to take on in order to earn this money. I took a side job painting for a few weeks in order to earn the cash to get to a friend’s wedding recently. I’m sure if I put it out there, I’ll find something similar.
Stay tuned.

$560
I want to step this up, but paying off my debt is taking up a lot of my funds ($286/month) and is definitely a priority. When my tax return comes in, I’ll put an extra $25 towards this and for birthday is in September, I’ll ask for donations again, which is where this whole thing started: $485 in camera money from family and friends for my birthday last year. Getting that camera is just going to take a while, I guess :)
