this would be awesome, but i don’t think it’ll ever happen because i don’t own one or have access to one. and they are really expensive.
How to learn to play the upright bass
How I did it: My school orchestra was lacking a bass, and since I was put it this "special" class called core enrichment (it made me feel like an idiot; all we did was do grammer packets), so I wanted to get out. That is probably not a good reason to want to play the bass, but whatev. Anyway, I had to take summer school every day for three hours during the summer. That probably dosent sound like a lot of time, but I leanred quick. Playing the bass is fun, but not for everyone.
Lessons & tips: Uh, I would make sure your,uh, tall. The must sound cliche, but I have never seen a 5 ft tall bass player. Oh, and strong hands and patience. You HAVE to stand while playing the bass, and its pretty heavy. Today I was playing bass in school and I cut my finger on the tough string, and *OW* it hurt.

I have played the electric for over 20 years, and the upright is very very different. It’s so much more fun for me. I love being a beginner again. Playing the upright has revitalized my interest in music. Everything comes at the right time in life, I believe, but part of me wishes I could have started the upright sooner.
