I’m teaching a one hour Ovid MEDLINE class. Wish me luck.
The first time I taught this, my boss told me I left stuff out and didn’t go into enough detail. The second time I taught it, he told me I went into too much detail and that I should try to be funny. I haven’t figured out yet how to make MEDLINE searching entertaining, much less funny. Apparently, I would make a poor stand-up comedian, since I seem to have trouble being funny under pressure.
I’ll stop feeling so nervous eventually, right? I hope so, if I just keep getting up and talking to groups of people.

and it was okay. I’m looking forward to the day when I get up to present and suddenly realize I’m not nervous.

I have to do both of these things regularly for my work, which is difficult for me, because I find getting up and talking to a group of people very scary. I love doing individual instruction, but talking to a group is terrifying. Also, I tend to talk at people, instead of involving them, which I think is pretty boring, so I would like to develop some interactive techniques.
