I bought a pan of blue watercolor on my last trip. I haven’t taken lessons which is the intent of this goal but am experimenting with color. I like having the additional range but really it’s like having an extra surfboard to cross the ocean with.

Not so happy with this one – anyhow you gotta keep on trying – my mum is so much better than me – maybe I should organize and mum and son painting jam.
Always wanted to do this, think it’s time I went out and bought some paint and brushes and gave it a go!

Back from Venice this week and inspired to paint again.
There is something magical about the light and the water in Venice.
So hear goes…
Asheia is enjoying her new obsession!
I want to know how to make something look like the light is shining on it. I want to know how to make “sun rays” without looking too attempted. Ultimately, I want to paint a bowl of oranges sitting next to a window with the sun hitting them and just lighting them up. Displaying the perfect orange-ness. I want to paint a painting I can be proud to hang on my kitchen wall.
I know absolutely nothing about art….never did it except probably in elementary schol but all of a sudden I have developed a major interest in it….I like acrylics and have bought a set…I also bought an easel, canvas and a couple brushes and I did my first painting which made me realize that I really need some professional classes, so I got a flyer and plan to call this week to schedule an appointment! I’m so excited…..Wish me luck!!! :)
Sorely lacking…stick figures and doodles…I wasn’t raised in an artistic family and my schooling never stressed art (it pretty much consisted of making those hand turkeys at Thanksgiving). I’ve go a long way to go on this one and I don’t seem to be doing anything about it…Sigh…another tough one.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to paint. The only creative outlet I have right now is in writing and programming. Sometimes I want to express/release emotions that can not be conveyed in words or code. I think painting would be great. My wife used to paint a few years ago but has given it up when she started working again. I will go find that box of stuff and get set up.

A bit crappy, but I like it nevertheless :)
