TechKat#25 Prince Polo

It’s POLISH. And it’s delicious!

But seriously, what’s up with Europeans and their wafers with hazelnut?!

Still, loooove! But I don’t really consider it a chocolate bar X) Not much chocolate to it.

But still. Polish! 15 hours ago

TechKat#25 Coffee Crisp

A Canadian Chocoalte! Oh my!

I think the recipe needs an extra shot of espresso. Like on the inside there should be espresso wafers instead of vanilla wafers ;) Someone should invent that.

They smell is amazing! And it’s very airy. Mom and I both liked it :) 15 hours ago

TechKat#24 Perugina Cappuccino Crisp

I tried this a long time ago, so I can’t say much about it… but I really didn’t like it! I think it was too soft or something. The flavors just weren’t what they should be. This was the first Italian chocolate I ever tried, though! :) And I would try their Bacio chocolate… whatever that is.

Unrelated, I saw sweet Thai curry chocolate today. I really had no idea what to even think of that one. All those off-the-wall flavors like chili, wasabi, etc… freak me out. 1 day ago

TechKat#23 VIOLET CRUMBLE

Dear Australians,

Please send me chocolate. Thanks! x

I actually thought Violet Crumble was better than Crunchie. I thought it was a bit less sugary, less crystallized, and was smoother… it melted in my mouth better. Hehe. I got this JUST because the Aussies started talking about it on my last entry… but uhm… apparently it cost me $4.

Is there like a ritual for eating this? Like do you slam it on your counter or something before opening it? I just ate it o.o 1 day ago

TechKat#22 Aero Milk!

I found a lot of European chocolate today at a specialty store in Sioux Falls! :) I picked up a milk chocolate Aero and also another mint Aero. I don’t know why I got just milk, haha… I’m pretty sure there were other flavors.

It’s okay chocolate. Tastes exactly like these German chocolate eggs I got at Christmastime. Why do Germans have chocolate eggs at Christmas? X)

I think I like this simply for the memories of Christmas 1 day ago

TechKat#21 duplo

Duplo is a spawn of Kinder, and that’s all I really know. The chocolate looks like a tree trunk. You can collect points and redeem prizes for purchasing their stuff :P These are pretty interesting… there’s a mini, airy vanilla wafer inside, but I really don’t get any sort of hazelnut taste the way I do in kinder. And the chocolate is suspiciously shiny… Europe, please don’t try to make your chocolate waxy!!

I do like the wafer, though – something different. I just thought for German chocolate it’d be… higher quality? XP 1 day ago

TechKat#20 CurlyTops

Another chocolate from the Philippines. Too waxy (and this is coming from an American). Not smooth, but it’s not like the flavor is terrible by any means…

I just wouldn’t buy it again. 4 weeks ago

TechKat#15 - 19, knivesdaggerSCALPEL edition

So 43 is a nice place. And people on 43 are always eager to prove it with random acts of kindness :)

I received a package from the UK right before Easter, and there was QUITE the haul of candy inside! This package came from knives, who as you can see was veeeerrryyy generous! :) ♥

We picked up the package fairly early in the morning, and headed to the library for coffee. I ordered an Earl Grey tea, because it seemed appropriate to enjoy with my British chocolates ;P My boyfriend was excited to see the Mars Bar. He grew up with them, so we happily split it. It is almost exactly like a Milky Way, but the chocolate is Cadbury, and the caramel is slightly less sweet… but still too sweet :) Better than a Milky Way, though! Wish my mom coulda tried it… I think she would go crazy.

There was also Aero. It seems like these might come in different flavors? Mine was mint. I think Aero outdoes Andie’s Candies, but Andie’s is very comparable – the texture is way different, though! A very cool, unique chocolate. I admittedly ate a piece I dropped on the floor… because it was delicious… don’t judge ;~;

Kinder Bueno, Hazelnut – also amazing! The center was a lot more runny than I expected, but I totally wanna get my hands on more of these! There are two thin bars, and you break sections of it off. Very layered. And German. Germans are awesome.

Crunchie – Very unique texture. Incredibly unique. Would be awesome if the ingredient list included real honey. A bit of a sugar overload. Gets stuck in teeth. Glad for the experience to try it, and would probably buy again. Gotta be in the mood, though!

Toffee Crisp – Embarrassingly my favorite, considering they’re supposed to be like USA Chocs. They’re a lot “lighter” tasting… as in the sugar doesn’t slap you in the face. I thought it was going to be chewy, but it wasn’t. I think it outranks Kinder Bueno simply for its unique quality and outdoing my initial, low expectations :)

In order, by favorite:
  1. Toffee Crisp
  2. Kinder Bueno – Hazelnut
  3. Aero – Minty bubbles
  4. Mars Bar
  5. Crunchie

There was also a Milka Easter bunny, which was pretty dang cool, because we don’t have the bunnies here! Unfortunately, I sought out Milka as a sophomore in high school after meeting German exchange students, so I can’t count it :) But it was delicccciiiioooouuusss ❤ and I am very appreciative of ALL the things knives sent.

Boyfriend thought it would be nice to include a picture of myself, since people like to know who they’re sending stuff too. We’re college kids, though, and we were wandering campus early and unshowered…so apologies for the appearance! :)

TechKat14. Some dark chocolate pear thing.

I basically had the Walgreen’s version of this, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same damn thing as Whole Foods because the bar itself looks the exact same like whaaat

My first bite was like, “Wow, this is fascinating!” and my second bite was like, “but I don’t really wanna eat this,” lol. I’m glad I tried it, really! But it wasn’t for me :)

...I actually threw half of it away. But still! Something very new and different2 months ago

TechKat13. Lindt Dark: A Touch of Sea Salt

The best selection of the Valentine’s Day chocolate :) Thanks, sweetie! The salt does add a little something, something. This is a rebuy! 2 months ago

TechKatAlmond Roca

I got this from the parking pass desk at my university…because hey, if they’re gonna charge you up the wazoo, you might as well raid the candy bowl, right?

Not my thing. Tasted burnt. Not much chocolate to it. Glad I didn’t pay for it. 4 months ago

TechKatI received a package today!

Kind regards to SimplicityInTheLBC! :) ((hugs))

Miss Simplicity sent me five kinds of chocolate: Vergani’s Mandarino, Vergani’s Limone, Lindor’s Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate truffles, and red and white-striped peppermint candy which remind me of my tube of Target candy :)

I will be reviewing three: Vergani x2 and the peppermint candy.

Vergani is Italian chocolate. Both Mandarino and Limone are highly fragrant, though the Limone echos a bit of a Pledge scent. I was worried to try these, as fruit+chocolate don’t typically appeal to me, but they’re both super yummy! The lemon tastes almost exactly like the lemon cookies I make… minus that chocolate part, of course! The chocolate is not highly noticable in either of these… the filling is very dominant. Overall, a great pick, Simplicity!

I like the peppermint, too. There are chunks in it… maybe ground candy cane? I really don’t know! These are surprisingly not fragrant. They are better than Lindor’s peppermint truffles, but they don’t top Ande’s Candies. Overall, another great pick!

Thanks for helping my goal, SimplicityInTheLBC! :) :) :) A wonderful surprise in my mailbox! 4 months ago

TechKatFerrero Garden

Image from here. What am I, a professional?!

I don’t like white chocolate all that much. These things smell like the caramel delights that those evil little girl scouts sell… kinda taste like them too, and then BAM. White chocolate. Eh. I got them in a pack of the three Ferrero flavors. I like the dark chocolate the best, but I don’t typically seek out Ferrero :)

Maybe I just don’t like chocolate anymore… 4 months ago

TechKatNoble Hazelnut Premium German Milk Chocolate with Hazelnut Mousse

I like hazelnut, but I didn’t like this. The chocolate took on a completely hazelnut flavor and lacked a distinct chocolate taste. The mousse gave it a texture that was too whipped and creamy—but at least not that almost sticky creaminess that seems to leave a film in your mouth like some chocolates.

I got this at Walgreens, which my town doesn’t have. Glad I tried it, buuuutttt…. 6 months ago

TechKatHägeland 53% Cacao Dark Chocolate

This is just how dark chocolate and black coffee are meant to be: smooth but not creamy. I picked this particular kind up because it was cheap and also one of the few things at Walmart I had yet to try.

I need more variety :(
I liked this though. Will probably be a rebuy. It usually lasts me 2-3 weeks. 6 months ago

SpyrunnerGooGoo Cluster

I was enjoying it until a piece of chocolate crumbled off and fell on my lap where it slowly melted. As I was in the bathroom with one hand down my pants and the other one dabbing at my crotch with a wet paper towel, a coworker walked in. I’m not sure who was more embarrassed. 7 months ago

SpyrunnerBlack Cow Delicious Chocolate Caramel

I picked this chocolate up at a restaurant that specializes in old time candy among other nicknacks. I brought it to work and had it in my lunch box and when I went to eat it, it was as hard as a rock. After lunch when it softened up, I enjoyed it. I was surprised that it was not that hard as many caramel and toffies often are. It was quite delBlack Cow Delicious Chocolate Caramelicious. 7 months ago

SpyrunnerCreamy Coconut Patties

They are actually made by Cadbury, but they say Anastasia Comfections in big letters on the front of the package. The bars were quite big, 2.7 oz, and I have a huge sugar buzz right now. I think they come in two patties because you should share them. The chocolate was rich and dark and melted in my fingers quite quickly. The patties were large squares but really good with lots of coconut. 7 months ago

TechKatFilipino Chocnut

A product of the Philippines, Chocnut definitely puts the choc in chocolate. It’s very chalky, very unconventional! On the package it is described as “peanut milk chocolate,” but in reality it tastes like a really crumbly peanut butter cookie—highly addicting! Plus, you can’t beat the ingredient list: roasted peanuts, cane sugar, milk powder, cocoa powder, and vanilla. That’s it! Where’s my high-fructose corn syrup, dyes, and emulsifiers, damnit?! Haha :)

I would probably buy this again, but next time with a huge glass of milk! 8 months ago

Pooky#22 Lindt Excellence Caramel with a touch of Sea Salt Bar

The crunch of caramel pieces and the delicate flavor of Fleur de Sel sea salt come together in smooth dark chocolate for an enticing chocolate experience.

I didn’t care for this, it was too crunchy for me. 9 months ago

Pooky#21 Dark & Caramel Filled Bar

Ghirardelli Dark & Caramel Filled Bar
Buttery caramel soft filling surrounded by intense 60% cacao dark chocolate.

I normally enjoy both dark chocolate and caramel. Surprisingly I found this a bit too sweet. 10 months ago

Pooky#20 Lindt Excellence Supreme Dark Chocolate 90% Cocoa

Lindt Excellence Supreme Dark Chocolate 90% Cocoa
Excellence 90% Cocoa is a full-bodied dark chocolate, masterfully balanced to be neither bitter nor overpowering.

A bit too strong for me, I like something a bit sweeter. 10 months ago

Lanie#43 The final piece of chocolate!

Today the hubs and I went to the South’s Finest Chocolate Factory! We ordered up some dark chocolate irish creme truffles. The candy was sooo delicious. However, after completing this goal, I would have to say that the best chocolate I sampled was the truffles from Shakalad’s in Turkey Creek, definitely my favorite. 10 months ago

Spyrunner3 Musketeers Coconut

I saw this at the checkout at the grocery store and had to try it. Who says they are impulse buys. It was quite good. 11 months ago

SpyrunnerGhirardelli Dark Chocolate with Sea Salt Caramel

Oh was this exquisite. Slightly too salty, but the chocolate and caramel were divine. 11 months ago

Lanie#42 Hersey's Simple Pleasures

A milk chocolate button with a creamy center – not too bad. The center was smooth & creamy, but the outer milk chocolate shell tasted a bit grainy. 11 months ago
