clean out my bookcases and reorganize them

It’s like an obsession – go to the second hand shops and buy books. I’m finding the styles of books I’m collecting is changing though.

All I have to do now is start reading through the books and deciding which ones not to keep. The rejects can go back into second hand book shops for recycling.

Then I bought more books, yet still have not cleared out some of the old unwanted books. Then to add to that my daughter gave a pile of her study books to add to my shelves. This is just not working as I’d hoped.

I think its as done now as its going to get. I got rid of my junk shelves but beyond that until I cut down on my number of books instead of increasing them which I don’t realistically see happening it can’t get any better than it is now.

To replace the temporary shelving I have up at the moment. It was a real bargain at an op shop – all it will need is a new coat of paint (but that can wait for now).

I’ve been slowly moving more books up to the room I call my library. There is also boxes of things belonging to my eldest daughter cluttering that room up. At present I have boxes and a suitcase full of books scattered all over this room. I need to work more on this to tidy things up and arrange books in subject order so they are easier to sort through and find.

I must make sure my eldest daughter works on this with me over her UNI break.

I dumped out 3 junk shelves onto my bed and sorted though the contents most of which was fit only for the trash can and recycling bin. Two more junk shelves to go and then I only have to shuffle the books around my 4 bookcases into more logical groupings and I’m finished.

I’ve moved most of my books to a new room – delegated to be my library. I’m still sorting them onto the shelves. I would like to cull a few of them, but I like to hoard books and I keep buyng more. Hopefully I will be able to part with many of the unlikely to be read again books I have.
