I’ve forgotten many of those 22, but at least could quickly answer when asked to name a country in Africa of one syllable and four letters.

I can identify 22 countries in Africa fairly reliably now! Not quite halfway there, but getting closer. It does make reading the paper much more meaningful, I’ve found, now that I can visualize the country where news is taking place and know a little bit about that country.
Interesting to learn ‘geography’ in middle age. I find myself relying on a combination of tricks learned in junior high with a greater willingness to make mistakes as I learn! I’m learning around the edges of the continent for now, sort of like nibbling on a cookie.
Got a blank map of Africa and will fill in what I know or think I know (not much). Then I need to start studying.
