How to be a camp counselor
How I did it: I LOVED IT. BEING WITH CHILDREN WAS SOOO MUCH FUN!. I felt it was the best summer i had. i got soo much more experiences. it;s jsut amazing at the end of the summer, and you realize how much you've learnt throughout each day. going through trainning and all that was very hard for sure, but it was soo worth doing. im encouraging everyone who would like this experience. . ;; keep goinggg. ,, children are soo cute, they make you like one. their innocence really drags out your deep feelings. <3. one summer , no regrets :)

I got hired back in January and now I’m leaving in 3 weeks for Freedom, Maine! I’m so excited.
i had my interview yesterday, but i dont think i got the job. there were a lot of returning counsellors and not a lot of jobs to fill. I dont feel like i wowed them enough to beat out all the other applicants… but you never know. i find out next week.
I got the job, so I am going to Portland, Oregon for the summer to be a counselor and couldn’t be more scared and excited at the same time
This was the hardest and funnest job I have ever had. You don’t get paid very much, but considering at my camp I got free room and food it was really not bad. I won’t go back next year to complete my schooling, but it was very rewarding. The only warning I would say is that depending on the camp, counselors tend to create their own small society with gossip and do irresponsible things on days off—however you don’t have to engage in that if you don’t want too, like me. I would totally recommend doing this.

I just got back and I learned a lot. It was a lot of hard work, but I think it was worth it. I had a great time the first session, but second session was less fun. I’m still glad I did it though because I met a lot of new and different people. I don’t know if I will do this again for the entire summer, but I will go back for a little bit.
So I leave to be a camp counselor for a week this saturday. I was a camper at this Christian Camp for about 13 years and I absolutely loved it, those experiences shaped and changed my life. I just hope that I can make half the difference with the kids that the counselors I was fortunate to have growing up. Wish me Luck!

I’m marking this done, even though I haven’t offically begun. I start tomorrow, but I will have limited internet access for the next six weeks. I hope I will have a good time and I can’t wait to start!
