Free Testing

I work in a university health education center that does free testing for the whole community and it is anonymous, meaning not only confidential, but we don’t keep any record of who you are, no name or address or phone number. Call your local college to see if they have free testing. I did it and it’s worth it. Even if you haven’t had risky sex, it would be a good baseline to know that you were clean in 2008.

allanjay is thinking of a way to connect this with twitter.
And it was negative. For added security, they took a blood sample to test for syphilis also. I will know the result after 3 days. They better not call me.

i have myself tested the easy way. i donate blood every 6 months or so to the american red cross and they test it for me automatically. the other easy way is that i am faithfully married and don’t engage in any intravenous activities.

Today June 27 is National HIV Testing Day. I got tested years ago, and as a paramedic I am always alert to the possibility of needle sticks and contaminated blood.
An estimated 250,000 people in the United States have HIV and are not aware of it. National HIV Testing Day is an opportunity for people nationwide to learn their HIV status, and to gain knowledge to take control of their health and their lives.
Some websites to consider visiting are:
www.AIDS.gov is the gateway to all Federal domestic information on HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, treatment, research, policies and resources.
www.napwa.org – information and resources for National HIV Testing Day and beyond.
www.hivtest.org – To find an HIV testing location near you.
All it takes is five minutes of your time to get the blood drawn. The knowledge will last a lifetime. Protect yourself. Protect those around you. Find out.

I recently finish a long relationship, and I feel it’s important to do the test right now, because it is the best way to show my boyfriend how much I care about him and how much I respect us.

HIV tests should be just routine for people having sex instead of being the kind of taboo they are nowadays.
I heard here in Finland they are almost routinely offered to test pregnant mothers as starting the HIV medication early can ensure the baby is born without HIV.

I’m in the military and we have to get tested yearly. I’ve never been concerned about having HIV, but it’s nice to know for sure that you don’t.
