be a better catholic

I’ve applied to join the (two-year) Lay Formation program in my diocese, which is an intensive Catholic program of spiritual development. :c)

I used to be really good about going to church and confession and all that…but lately I just don’t WANT to go.
I spend too much time writing and day dreaming. Gotta start praying again!

I think this goal ties in with my ‘Pray Regularly’ goal because prayer and communion are the life of a Catholic. I already attend Mass regularly and I go to Confession once a month. I’m active in my Parish and I try to set a good example. However I should try to control my tongue a bit more and watch my temper. I also need to pray several times a day to completely commit my life to God. As I said in my entry to my other goal ‘Pray Regularly’ this is technically a lifelong goal but, I think I will follow my prayer program for 30 days before considering it accomplished.

I went to Mass and Confession today. Nothing new there, but it was very powerful. Glad I went! (It’s not Sunday.)

I definitely have to say I way better of Catholic than two years ago….I barely trust in God and other stuff…but now I thank God every single night that he gave me another amazing day to live and thank him for the big things and little things he gives me everyday…I am very proud being Catholic!

She was born in eternity and transcends time and space; She lives on earth, in purgatory, and in Heaven, as Church militant, Church suffering, and Church triumphant, before time, in time, and in the end of time. Yet She has ONLY one body and ONLY one spirit of love and harmony. She has only one spouse, Jesus Christ. He has been chosen as the eternal bridegroom to embrace within His arms His eternal bride. And by holy matrimony, make one flesh. Christ is the pastient groom who awaits the prepartion and perfection of His most holy bride, to finally embrace Her at the end of time, on the last day. She is my home and my heart; She is all that I need. She is my everything.

It’s my own goal, so I should know better, but it read as cat-holic to me. Well, I already have a cat boarded at mum’s, and live with two others, so I should think that’s a pretty good case of cat-a-hol-ism as it stands!! No???

Hi, I want to persuade my family to go to mass. ( I am only 11 little impact can i make on my mother) Any ideas?

We have’nt been to mass in about six months. Today I will try to make the Ten O’clock at Saint Francis.

So I honestly feel totally miserable right now. I made the mistake of getting into a slight religious discussion with my (christian) friend. We were talking about how in her church, people are always shouting, praising,loud. I thought it was harmless to share a view I share with my father: If Jesus was standing in front of you what would you be doing? screaming and shouting, or on your knees praying? She took this very offensively, even though she denied nothing was wrong. The look she gave me was that of a sinner, someone who needs to be saved. I feel so hurt by this. I’m catholic, born and raised yet I feel like I know so little about my religion. I go to church every sunday, but am I really there? I really need to learn to stand up for my religion. Anyway, sorry if this is long or if anyone disagrees with this. I just feel hopeless right now.
