be more hospitable

Yesterday, a friend phoned and needed to stay over tonight and tomorrow night and I felt good that I could say yes. He needs to be here for work and is good company and likes to do the dishes so it was easy to say yes. But good to notice how easy it was to say yes.

How will I know when to tick this one off? I suppose when I get my living room looking less like an office with a sofa and when I get my spare room looking like a bedroom!

In my old, cramped, untidy flat, I did not feel comfortable inviting people around. Now I got a bigger place, I have already had plenty people stay with me and it has been much more fun than I had ever thought. So I hope to keep up this hospitability by encouraging those I have invited to come and visit me, and when by making their stay with me pleasant and fun.

We have invited some friends over for dinner. That means I’ll have to cook and make sure there is enough wine to go around! Here’s what’s on the menu:

Appy: Baked Shrimp with Tomato and Feta
Dinner: Roasted Wild Salmon with lemon relish
Dessert: Strawberry Tart

My guests are vegitarian and only eat fish… I hope it turns out!
