    6/12 2 years ago

I finished The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho. It was an AWESOME book!!! I love anything he writes!!! I’m still reading Afoot and Afloat. So, I’ve read 6 books this year. I might get another 1 or 2 under my belt before the end of the year. Not quite my goal of 12, but much better than the last 2 years!!!

I've read a few more... 2 years ago

Okay, I’ve read a few more books:

Let’s Elope: The Definitive Guide to Eloping, Destination Weddings, and Other Creative Wedding Options by Scott Shaw and Lynn Beahan

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

The Temple, Our Home Away From Home by Ardeth Greene Kapp

    I’m currently reading:

The Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho

Afoot and Afloat by John Burroughs

    and I’d like to read:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows :)

... that would put me at 8 books if I finish what I’m reading and what I’d like to read.

Miracles Happen : The Life and Timeless Principles of the Founder of Mary Kay Inc. 2 years ago

I finished Mary Kay’s autobiography. It is a great read…whether you’re into Mary Kay (the company) or not. She was a BRILLIANT woman who has made such an amazing difference in women world-wide. I have so much respect for her!!!

7 books so far ^^ 2 years ago

I’m gonna write their names in portuguese, because that’s the language I’ve read all of them, and, anyway, most of the books are by brazilian writers.

~ Cem anos de Solidão (Gabriel García Márquez)
    ~ Felicidade Clandestina (Clarice Lispector)
~ Zélia, uma paixão (Fernando Sabino)
~ Memória de minhas putas tristes (Gabriel García Márquez)
~ A hora da estrela (Clarice Lispector)
~ Quincas Borba (Machado de Assis)
~ O cortiço (Aluísio de Azevedo)

There are so many books I wanna read, but there’s lack of money and time.

I discovered Gabriel García Márquez this year, and those 2 books were enough to make me fall in love with him :) I wanna re-read those books and also buy others written by him.

April/May Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk 2 years ago

I’ve read Fight Club, I’ve read Choke and now I’ve read Lullaby, but I think I have had enough of Palahniuk for now. Don’t get me wrong, I still think he’s a great writer and all his books are probably worth reading (not very often you can actually say that, right?). I just feel like I’m taking his style for granted in a way.

Be that as it may, Lullaby is basically about a group of people hunting down the last 200 copies of a book of childrens’ poems containing an ancient Zulu culling poem from a grimoire. When the grimoire itself is discovered, they abandon their goal and wanton powerlust ensues.

Next up: Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen (maybe).
