start a radio station

EVERYTHING.
A station that does not crated to one genre, but at the time time does not suck up to mainstream music but rather the bands people don’t know about! MUHAHAHA!
A station where you can relax and listen, instead of being annoyed by repetition.
A station ranges from Run DMC to The Rolling Stones.
A station with shows that has different shows that talk about EVERYTHING under the sun, the moon and the stars!
A station that appeals to people of types. Insomniacs, depressives, open minds, etc.
A station that gives people their food for thought and favorite of the song along with their morning coffee.
A station that will bring a smile to someone’s face when they’re feeling their worst
A station that offers all of this for free!

But I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist where I live, so I guess I have to do it myself. HAHA! Let’s make our dreams come true, you guys!! WHOOO!

THE BEST RADIO

I want to start a alternative station inspired by the KinKfm we know in the Netherlands, but with more intelligent items and not a moment of boredom.

I WANT TO START A RADIO STATION, I WANT TO TELL THE PEOPLE ABOUNT GOD BY MUSIC AND THE WORD OF GOD.

I’ve been working with friends for awhile on http://radiodiscon.com . Next thing I want to get going in streaming our station to cell phones. If any body has any questions, advice or general love for radio hit me up.

It can all seem rather daunting at first, trying to compile all the information you need, and understanding the process. You can read further information here on how to start up a FM radio station. If you want further advice I can be contacted on radio@themulcher.com

But I have absolutely no idea where to start.

I’ve read over FCC regs on LFM and FM, pretty much don’t have any money, and still want to start a Las Vegas-based independent music station with local bands as contributors.

Going to keep researching, I suppose, but possibly looking into XM or internet radio broadcasting. Podcasting seems awfully popular, nowadays.

With the advice of tjthedj, and a little creative use of several free online services (Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, journals, etc.) interest is gaining in both a San Marcos-based radio station and another group of stations with religious programming maintained by our church. Funding for the church will be easy, but getting a location and resources for at least a “semi-live” station is the next hurdle.
