Continually grow and nurture my Freelance contacts

I wonder if there’s a part of me that just doesn’t want to work. Period. I had a forehead-slapping moment just now when I realized that the resume I recently sent to some contacts was missing a key contract job that I just finished. As it is now, my resume looks like I haven’t done much in the last few months. Arghhhhhhhhhh!

All I can do now is add in the content and move forward. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I sent out followup emails to several contacts last week. It was shrivel-up-an-hide scary but I did it and I’m proud that I did. Now to keep moving and to gain momentum in the direction that I want.

I sent a follow-up to my last client to see if they had any new work that needed a writer. I’m so shy and new to this freelance gig that sending this follow-up only occurred to me today. Now that I’ve done it, it seems like the most naturally and logical thing to do. My need to not seem pushy or overbearing blinded me to the opportunities I could be making for myself. The client’s response was very kind even though they had nothing at the moment. This is okay because it means that I’ll be in their mind when something does come up, and I’m reassured that they’re happy with the work I finished with them. I’m going to send out speculative emails to companies that I want to work with tomorrow. Suddenly, I feel this burst of positive energy flowing through me and I’m going to take advantage of it.
