Pay off my car early

My last car payment is due July of 2013. My goal is to have it paid off by July of 2010.

I have a balloon loan on my car, with the last payment of $3500 due next July. At that point I can refinance or pay the total amount, but I plan to double up on my car payments every month starting now as well as put any additional money (my Christmas bonus!) toward the balance as well, so that it’s completely paid off in July 2009.

I will hopefully be attending law school next fall and would love to be free from car payments!

As of 8/22/07, the final check for $1567 is in the mail! :)

I owe about $3000- it should be paid off next December, but I’d like to get it paid of by May or June.
