so, here it is, almost Purim 2 years ago

And I never did have a seder. I’m hoping to re-schedule this for Michigan’s Arbor day, then maybe we can really plant a tree! So that’s for the last Friday of the last week of April: this year, April 27th.

JudithKD I LOVE the year in review thing...how cool! Thx robots!

I think I will do this 2 years ago

in the spring. I was thinking about planting a tree or two because of global warming, and other things, so I will “give up” on this goal until I plant the trees.

Then, I’ll do something to mark their age as a way of celebrting Tu B’Shevat and I’ll mark this complete.

I was out of town for Tu B'Shevat 2 years ago

So I’m going to have a belated seder…but serendipitously I made a new friend at the retreat who had information on how to do a seder, and she gave this whole notebook of stuff on the spot! We’re going to share information about our respective seders too, and I’m so excited!

Totally wrote this up two days ago... 2 years ago

Yep… Well, I didn’t so much as celebrate Tu B’Shevat as plant a tree on Tu B’Shevat but, hey, it’s like celebrating, right? I may not believe in God but I do believe in trees. Well, the tree planting took less time than I thought it would… and at this point I’m going to go type up the entry for “plant a tree” because, well, I don’t feel like making two entries and I’m not a huge fan of the copy / paste.

Happy Phantom is just relaxing

Wow! That was fast. 2 years ago

Tu’B’Shevat totally blew by and I barely noticed? You’d think I could pay better attention to things. But I did give a donation to the Sierra Club. I will plant a tree this spring. There is a great tree and shrub program with my county and I’d love to have less lawn to mow.

Adar is back.

Happy Tu B'Shevat, folks! 2 years ago

I made bread with lots of dried fruit in it, and it was better than you might think. ;-)

For Tu B'Shevat 2 years ago

Things I did:

I taught a “tree” meditation to the bnei mitzvah class for Tu B’Shevat. I find it useful to be able to meditate standing up, as well as sitting.

Researched environmental groups for our synagogue’s “Tzeddakah” fund. We’re giving this week’s to the Washington Wilderness Coalition.

Ate some fruit, although thinking about it, they were tropical: mango, banana – yum!

We were going to go hiking or snow shoeing, but it was raining, and worse, freezing rain up at the pass, so we’ll have to do the outdoor “among the trees” thing some other time.

Tu BiShvat's over 2 years ago

The day itself wasn’t very special, but this whole goal was fun.
Tomorrow I’ll go buy some dried fruits and nuts and bake a cake :)

lob is enjoying 2 weeks of time off from activities...

I intended to 2 years ago

celebrate Tu B’Shevat, but, life just interfered with my plans this time. Just too many other obligations and then getting rear-ended by another car.

I can put this on my mental calendar for next year.
