Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

TartsyMy Everest

Back onto the list it goes. Eight months ago I created this crazy goal and now I need to drag it back up. I went from being able to pull it off (WOO-WHO!) to feeling like I couldn’t do 20 to save my life. I will start today by doing as many as I can and I’ll keep going from there… 7 years ago

SegsySame thing yesterday at the gym

I think I am getting better at this. I feel confident to mark this as complete… again!!! 7 years ago

Segsy25, 25, 25, 25

+10 bicycles for good measure! Whew!

Really have to do this one more time to feel comfortable saying I have completed this. 7 years ago

Segsy25, 25, 10, 10, 10, 15 and 5!!!!!

K… but I’m not fully satisfied. I think once I can do 25, 25, 25, 25 I will find this complete! 7 years ago

SegsyBoot Camp class

Last night Happy Phantom and I took a boot camp class. It involved many core exercises. I tried to keep track of the ab work but I could not keep up with the counting. I was too busy concentrating on the movements. I am almost sure it had to be close to 100 but I could not attest to it although HP might.

So, I continue to move on to complete this goal. 7 years ago

Bill is in Alexandria, VA Living happily ever after.2007 08 13 - did 100

in four sets of 25.

I like this idea… work the set count up.

After 25, I suppose the next set count is 33. Then 40 +40 +40
Then 50 +50
Then 60 +60
Then 75 +25
then 80 +20
then a set of 100.

I wonder if I’ll do this … since it was my idea and all … or just let it slide like the lose 15 pounds weight loss sprint. 7 years ago

SegsyI squeezed out the crunches tonight

but still not 100. I have to keep going. I probably could have done the 100 but not in the time I would have liked to. 7 years ago

Bill is in Alexandria, VA Living happily ever day one ... starting over

ok.. without YouTube, this would never happen.

Now, day one is over. 100 in sets of 10, 20, 20, 20, 20, and 11 7 years ago

SegsyAnother 60 tonight

I started with Girlincurl’s advice but did two sets of 15 and then I had to switch back down to sets of ten. Hmmmm… I have to get over this hump of 60. 7 years ago

SegsyGym today

and squeezed out 60 crunches. Not doing so hot on this progress. I think I need to add more days of trying. That’s a no brainer. 7 years ago

Bill is in Alexandria, VA Living happily ever after.OK... this is a pathetic start... but .. it is a start

I did one set of 20 today.

Then I got distracted making the video of my run. Then I got distracted by having to pack to go to the airport. Then I got distracted by a conference call from my manager. Then a call from my team mate about … actual work.

But, it’s a start. 7 years ago

SegsyI was a bit sore

last night from Moday’s workout. But I attempted the crunches anyway. Only 50. So I backtracked. Only half way there. 7 years ago

Segsy110 crunches

At the gym I did 60 crunches in about 4 minutes. Six sets of 10. I checked the time of those crunches by doing 50 crunches in about 5 minutes, before going to bed. I still have a long way to go.

Amazingly enough I am not sore today. 7 years ago

SegsyBeginning this goal tonight

going back to the gym tonight… Ugh! 7 years ago

Bill is in Alexandria, VA Living happily ever after.I used to know a guy who exercised regularly

and posted photos daily.

Perhaps I could be more like him.

Abs photos? I will if you will. 7 years ago

SegsyStarting over

1. because I deleted my account and have no record of my success.

2. because I have been slacking on the exercise so I want to be able to do this AGAIN. 7 years ago

Tartsy100 on Thursday

But I’m leaving this goal up because I felt a little queasy… 7 years ago

less_than_zerojust starting out...

Since thursday I have started a 45 minute full-body workout each evening that includes an ab workout of 20 normal crunches, 20 oblique crunches and 20 toe-touch crunches. Not so bad but I really want to make it to doing 100 normal crunches without feeling like a bowl of jello :) 7 years ago

TartsyStuck @ 70

Yup, another 70 yesterday. Got to push a little harder… 7 years ago

The last 10 hurt like a mo-fo but I did them. Still in sets of 10 and I refused to look at the clock. Getting sick the other week really screwed up my on target schedule! At least I’m still plugging along over here. Soon, maybe within 2 weeks? 7 years ago

TartsyI called it

At 50 I was maxed out… 7 years ago

TartsyBack in the saddle

Tonight I crunch again (finally) and I’m hoping for 60 but I’ll be happy with 50 to tell the truth! We shall see… 7 years ago
