I finished but need to do it again 6 months ago

I finished the book a couple of months ago.
it is great but it will twist your mind in such a way…
that I need to read a couple of times more.

Until I get “Y combnator” I wont count this as done.

I got to chapter 8, but I’ll have to start over since I’ve forgotten some. Hopefully it won’t take too long to get back.

I'm in chapter 5 14 months ago

Reading a chapter a day.
although I understand recursion.
I don’t think in recursion.
And this book is amazing in helping to develop that thinking ability.

Currently at the end of Chapter 5. Going through a few pages at a time.

Done with it. Last few chapters are pretty insane. I think it would have helped if I had a scheme environment to try stuff out in, but it was worthwhile as a great general computer science read as well.

Hmm 20 months ago

I bought this a while ago. Read through a little of it, and found it fun. I put it back on the shelf and I’m just coming back to it now. I’m not a new programmer but I’m new to functional languages. I’m going to finish it over this spring break.

how to put it? This book ROCKS. Yeah. Really really really good! No matter what language you program in, you should go through this at least once.

Finished! 2 years ago

I thought I was a goner when I hit the Y-combinator, but I pulled through and blasted through the last chapter. It’s tempting to follow up with SICP, or The Seasoned Schemer, but I have other projects on my plate with a higher priority….

Finished A Very Mind-Expanding Chapter... (Chapter 8) 2 years ago

Phew! Just finished Chapter 8 (did a few pages in the morning and continued when I got back from the office).

It’s the most mind-twisting chapter yet. I thought multirember&co was challenging… until I had to tackle the very last bit: evens-only*&co. My brain is all twisted up now.

(In a good way.)

A few pages into Chapter 8 2 years ago

I could write insert-g, so I’m grabbing a coffee cake and relaxing :)
