I was at a club last night that had some russian text on a screen. I stared at something that looked quite like Posepto for a long time before a lightbulb went off. Roberto!
How to learn the Cyrillic Alphabet
How I did it: First, I studied the sounds of Bulgarian, then I studied the alphabet, it took me about four hours to read Cyrillic and in the end I realized that it was very fun.
Lessons & tips: Don't get frustrated while learning and go in your own pace.

It will take you 75 minutes to master the Russian alphabet – or even less. I base that on 15 minutes a day – and Day 1, you already know all the letters as they look and sound the same in English…
Domen Puncer is figuring out what to do with life
Since I speak a slavic language (slovene), I think learning cyrillic->latin transliteration could be useful in some cases.
I have an alphabet taped to my screen, and with some effort+time I can read the russian spam mail I get. And even understand, at least a part of the message.
My goal is to read it somewhat fluently.
Allan Edwin is still hanging in there ..
Spent just under a month in Russia last Nov-Dec. Immersion was good and I was able to decipher things about 3/4 of the time.
I’ve just learnt the Russian written alphabet! So now I just need to master the scripted alphabet. :D
It’s sooo great to learn something so different! I finished a 4-lessons course with a Russian teacher and paralelly used the book “Teach Yourself Russian Script” and I think I can say: yes, I learned the cyrillic alphabet! Just need some training to get more familiar, faster in reading and get a better pronunciation.

I think it is so cool! That makes me so proud of Bulgaria.
Just to know the Cyrillic alphabet was created by Cyril and Methodius when the Bulgarians were converting to Christianity. Now Cyril and Methodius are canonized and we celebrate their day as a national holiday on 24 may.
Thanks for reading. Keep learning and good luck.
