are finally in the trunk of my boyfriend’s car! Now we just have to drive the car to Goodwill… Busy weekend though. :( Not sure if it’ll be today.
littlerien The Universe is just awesome.
How I did it: I have a bad habit of never throwing out my old clothes. I tend to wear things until they're practically threadbare, and I'm trying to change that. So, I dug through my closet and got rid of all my old clothes. They were too faded to donate anywhere, so I just tossed them. It was well needed, and freed up allot of room in the closet for some new winter stuff! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've wanted to get rid of a lot of my old / too small / too big / etc. clothing for years but just couldn't make myself get around to it. Then a friend of a friend invited me to a "clothing swap" and that really lit a fire under me. My goal was to get rid of every single thing I don't wear anymore, and I thought if I was lucky I might come home with one cute "new" thing. And that's exactly what happened!By the way, all t… Read how I did it…

I’m clearly WAY past my challenge deadline on this one. :( My life just got crazy. I’m not sure why! I would definitely have gotten this done already, but without a car it’s a bit challenging and it’s so hard to remember. I barely even see the bags of clothes any more!

I went through my closet yesterday and got all of the old clothes I don’t want into bags. I pulled anything that I don’t wear regularly except things that are for special occasions (like evening gowns). Now I just need to get rid of them!
tammysmiff is so excited that I lost 5 pounds my first week of weight watchers!
I have clothes from when I lost a bunch of weight about 4 years ago and then I slowly gained it back plus more. I keep thinking that I will lose the weight again and get back into the smaller clothes and they are all so cute! I literally have 6 different sizes of clothes in my closet from the past 4 years: size 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 & 18! I hate to get rid of the smallest sizes when I’m in the largest sizes because I spent a lot of money on all those clothes and they aren’t out of style (Levi’s never go out of style). But I keep thinking how much more organized and nicer my big walk in closet could look. I thought about getting those bags that store a bunch of stuff all compacted when you take the air out. I also thought that if I kept the smaller sizes of clothes that it would be a motivation for me to lose the weight again, but so far it has not worked! I have even tried hanging my favorite outfit up on the wall in my bedroom for me to see every day and that hasn’t worked either! I need guidance and suggestions on this issue!
I’m having a clothes swap party this week! Whatever I can’t sell to red light will be up for grabs and whatever’s leftover after that goes to charity:)
Filled 6 shopping bags of clothes – some for donation – some for consignment. Not bad for a first pass through.
I just got rid of a garbage bag of clothes and other junk from my laundry cupboard. Yay! I’m going to try to sell a bunch of stuff at buffalo exchange and red light, even though they’re snooty about what they’ll take. Next challenge is the 3 boxes in storage…It feels so good to get rid of it and be free of the clutter!
I was finally in the mood to say good-bye to old items, and I picked out 2 laundry baskets full of old clothes to donate to good will. I think it gets easier each time, as you realize that your life doesn’t really change when you get rid of clothes that may have some memories associated with them.
kenguin is waiting and not sleeping.
It is so hard for me to get rid of shoes and clothes. My closet is full of clothes that I have only worn once. I probably bought them on one of my numerous impulse-shopping trips—another habit I need to break. I own over 100 pairs of shoes—some I have never even worn even though they are so cute. There are even some that I do not even remember ever buying! I also have this thing about wearing clothes more than once or wearing the same outfit more than once. It makes me feel weird. Maybe that is why I can’t let clothes go. I don’t know if I’m a pack rat or just really love clothes. Or both. Or neither. I think I have a problem.
They’re in good shape because I am very gentle with my clothes, but they are out of style or I am just plain tired of them and so they hang untouched in my closet season after season. It is time to retire some pieces. I also need to get rid of shoes that are looking old, out of style, or cause pain enough that I refuse to wear them. And finally, I need to throw away the underpants that I would be embarassed to be seen in at the emergency room. How much can a couple packs of Hanes cost? I don’t need to wear Victoria’s Secret every day.
