It was good, but the plot could have been developed more. I think I had high expectations because I’ve heard such wonderful remarks about his previous movie. I’m not at all disappointed about watching it. In fact, I would be quite sad if I was still waiting on that experience. Well, not too sad, but ya know….

Chris Campbell is getting things done.
It’s visually beautiful with a hopelessly romantic story that sucked me in. One of the most distinctive visual directors is Jean-Pierre Jeunet and with A Very Long Engagement he’s able to paint a story set around the first world war that manages somehow to exist in a world between cinema, photography and painting. While it’s a longer film, I was never bored and loved spending time in the complex and intertwined world.
