I’ve been to CT before, but this last time I went really did it for me. I fell in love with the place! The people, the atmosphere, the beauty, everything. I would really like to find an apartment in the city, hopefully after I get my degree. Despite Gauteng being my home, I really can’t see myself staying here forever…

We should hear within the next 2 weeks if this is happening or not – there apparently is a 80% chance…...
There is a HUGE possibility that we might be in Cape Town next year this time :) Yah!
My hubby eventually said yes and agreed we can move to Cape Town – this should happen within the next 1/2 years or so – I can’t wait!!
They really should add an I don’t want to do this anymore button on 43T…
The past month has really opened my eyes to some fundamental facts about the “Mother City” and its people. Actually, we here in Gauteng often joke about Capetonians living on a different planet, but all the shit at work has really driven this argument home…
I have never come across such a bunch of slackass, spoilt, whiney, utterly useless people in my life. I don’t know if this comes as result of staring at that f%$king mountain all day long or smoking copious amounts of weed, but they have absolutely no idea of work ethic and believe that the world revolves around them. They wouldn’t last a day here in Johannesburg, where we actually get shit done!
I don’t care if they have the mountain and the wine, and the ocean (yawn). Now that the ocean’s been sold to foreign investors the place won’t look the same in ten years’ time anyway!
It’s okay for holidays, but that’s it. I’m glad I’ve come to realise that living there would irritate the living daylights out of me. Give me Zimbabwe any day.
This post may seem a bit OTT, but I really needed to get this off my chest…
.. I should give up on this dream just because he’s not waiting there for me any more. I love Cape Town. It’s laid back, the air is fresh and smells of the ocean, it has a live and vibrant jazz scene, and while I was there I didn’t have any pain (I suffer fom chronic headaches…) and I felt SAFE! I think I’m going to save some money, and make a move there in September :) (Winter in CT is rainy season… I think I’ve had enough rain for this year in Gauteng as it is.)
Willow is moving there in May, so she should be settled and well into the whole scene by the time I get there.
Even if it’s only for a year, I’ve always wanted to live in CT and I’m going to do it!
I’m tired of Gauteng, the rush of working in Johannesburg. I want to live in a beautiful place, where people still have time to stop and appreciate what they have around them. Would really like to make this happen in 2008 – the sooner the better…
