Proud to be an American again. 12 months ago

I live abroad. Now that we have a new president-elect I am very, very proud of how our democratic process worked and that we have overcome so many preconceptions and have elected a man who is measured, clear thinking and even handed. We need good leadership and enough of us have seen the character of the man that we voted him in office. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin but the nature of his character. Way to go!

Ah why not? 2 years ago

I actually just got done with my training about 3 weeks ago, I’m in the Kentucky national guard. I really didn’t do it to serve my country tho, I did it for the college money mainly.

Without being in the military 3 years ago

I joined the Peace Corps and served for a little over two years. It is not necessary to become a soldier to serve your country. It is not necessary to carry a gun to defend it. I respect those who make the choice to join the military. A lot can be learned in the service. But as a Buddhist, I choose not to participate in any activity that might lead to the killing of others.

Didn't even pay for a passport... 4 years ago

Eight countries and 7 states in 7 years. The people – Awesome. The sights – Spectacular. The ride – Nothing like it. Experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Got the T-Shirt. Got the mug. Got the memories.
