Segsy is looking for a new job... yet again!

#43 - FRINGE 14 months ago

I watched the encore premier of Fringe Sunday night and the second episode this past Tuesday of “FRINGE”. In J.J. Abrams fashion, this Sci-fi, mystery, drama keeps you hanging on with questions of unexplained circumstances. Fringe revolves around FBI agent, Olivia, who takes on a case of happenings bigger than we can imagine.

When a plane lands in boston with everyone on board dead, Olivia enlists Peter Bishop, played by Joshua Jackson, to spring his father, Walter Bishop from a mental institution to help the case. Walter has been in the institution for over 20 years. Peter is the only one who can keep Walter’s mind together. Walter holds many of the keys to the unexplained because he used to be a “mad scientist” using unethical procedures to find answers.

It seems the plane crash is just a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Think X-Files meets Lost and keep watching to figure it all out.

You can catch FRINGE, Tuesday nights at 9:00PM EST on FOX.

#42 - 90210 15 months ago

I’m sorry, I’m sorry but then again not so sorry for watching this spin-off. I was an avid 90210 watcher back in the 90’s so this was a kicker for me.

Bring on Lori Loughlin and Rob Estes as parents who move their teenage daughter, Annie and adopted teenage son, Dixon(who is black) from Kansas to Beverly Hills. Estes plays Harry, a former grad of West Beverly Hills High who returns to be the principal of the school. Bring on the adjustments the kids have to deal with the trials and tribulations of living the Beverly Hills life.

Some other familiar faces will be Kelly Taylor who plays the schools guidance counselor. You may also notice the cute teacher Ryan Matthews from “Dirt” who strive’s for Ms. Taylor’s attention.

I think I will give this show a chance only because I have my heart for the original. You can catch 90210 at 8:00PM on the CW.

Prince of Motor City 15 months ago

I watched the pilot of this show online last night as part of some market research ABC is doing. I don’t think it’s on the fall schedule – maybe a mid-season replacement. By the time I’d finished watching the entire episode, the research web site said they already had enough responses in my demographic, so I didn’t get selected to give them feedback. And so I didn’t get the $12 they’d promised me!

So here’s my review anyway:

It’s like Dirty Sexy Money meets Eli Stone, set in the auto industry. The lead character’s estranged father, an auto tycoon/maverick, had died in a suspicious accident, and the son inherits everything. Will he leave his job as a college philosophy professor and move back to Detroit to run the company?

I didn’t know the lead actor, but I guess he was in October Road. Lots of other good character actors, including Aiden Quinn, Sharon Lawrence, the bald guy who played Drew Carey’s brother, and the classy Andie MacDowell as the widow.

The comparison to Eli Stone comes in because the lead character keeps seeing things that aren’t really there: ghostly things maybe done by his father’s ghost. It’s like Dirty Sexy Money because it’s about a son taking over for a dead father, and searching for the cause of his death and coming to reconcile their broken relationship.

That said, I’m not sure I’d watch the show regularly, in part because I already watch too much TV, and this didn’t really grab me. But maybe I just need some time to let the characters grow on me – if it ever makes it to air.

#41 - BURN NOTICE 16 months ago

I TiVo’d the Burn Notice Marathon out of my curiosity. In fact I quite liked it and watched all 7 episodes since last Thursday including the 2nd season premier.

Watching this spy game, has gotten me smitten with main character, Michael Weston. This is season 2. Michael Weston, is a blacklisted spy, “burned”, and dumped back to his hometown of Miami. Not so bad you say only all of his assets are frozen along with his credit and so on.

Michael enrolls the help of his two friends, Fiona (his ex) and Sam (an ex military agent).

Weston takes on a job here and there all the while trying to figure out who “burned” him.

Although, Weston’s character needs to show a bit a more emotion, even for a spy I can like him.

You can catch Burn Notice Thursday nights on USA network at 10:00PM EST.

Unsuspecting New York City taxi passengers hail a cab and suddenly they are thrown into a game show. The cab driver asks “Where to?” Then suddenly the ceiling lights go on. The passsengers are told they are on a game show and can win money if they answer simple questions.

This show kept me on my treadmill at the gym for longer than anticipated.

Meet DeANNA! She’s is the gilted girl from the last Bachelor. Now she’s back to try to find “true love”.

Meet 25 bachelor’s. Ok, c’mon, REALLY? Where do they find these guys? I have to admit some were cute, admirable and worthy, but for the most part… ech!

Can one really find true love on a reality show with camera’s and competition galore? One only knows. As for DeAnna, she is a huge believer it will work for her.

You can route for your favorite guy to win DeAnna’s heart Monday night’s at 9:00PM EST on ABC.

# 37 - AMERICAN IDOL 21 months ago

This review is specially for Uncleenore!

Now I know practically anyone American has caught some of AI. It’s season 7 and Paula, Randy and Simon are out to find the next American Idol. It’s a Pop Star world and everyone thinks they can sing. But under the scrutiny of these 3, you just might second guess yourself.

This seasons contestants have a little bit of rock, a little bit of soul and a bit of old time charm. Simon is a s ruthless as ever to the contestants. Paula always seems to like “everyone”. Randy Jackson things everyone is the Dog!

As far as reality TV goes, I enjoy watching. It’s entertaining and heart warming.

Stay tuned to see who will be our next American Idol. Catch it, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on Fox at 8:00pm.
