keep in touch with my high school friends

Tomorrow night 2 of my best friends and I are getting dinner together. I only get to talk to them occassionally so I’m really excited to be able to spend a good amount of time catching up with them. I wish we all went to the same school. I just haven’t found anyone in college who I can be as close to as I was with my friends my high school.

so my best friend and still call each other every wednesday and surprisingly i’m doing well on keeping tabs on my other friends as well. i thought that this was going to be a lot harder, but it’s not. even if a phone call or chat lasts just a few minutes, it’s enough to know that they’re still there and that we’ll be there for each other

so my friends left for school today and i already miss them… my best friend and i set up a schedule to call each other at least once a week… i really hope that that lasts

For now, im ticked off that everyone has moved on so quickly. All those people who said “let’s keep in touch” arent doing their parts. Why should i care if they dont? Good riddance.

Graduation’s coming…then everyone will be off on their own universe (or to be more exact, universities). I feel kinda left behind sometimes, and since they’re dorming and im not, i feel like im gonna lose them as their lives change and they evolve, and i stay the way i am. I know it’ll work out fine in the end, but i just feel like ill value these people’s friendships much more a few decades from now…and id like to keep in touch with them, if not for the friendships, then at least to tie my future to my present and past.

I don’t want to forget about my friends from high school because they’ve been great. so i will try to keep in touch with them once in a while. i truly value the friendships i have.
