go fishing more

Went fishing yesterday and will head out tomorrow.

We set out yesterday morning to spend some guy time at the river. Jacks showed his excitement when he came bouncing out of his room fully dressed at 6:30. The car was packed and we were on the road by 6:40 to head to the bait store and meet the fish when they woke up.

We ate our man’s breakfast of powdered donuts, beef jerky and some smoked sausage as we drove to the fishing hole. It was 70 degrees and there was a good cool breeze coming off the river when we put our lines in the water. Something told me it was going to be a good day when Jackson’s line was struck before he could even sit down to be comfortable.

Three hours, four catfish, one bass, one perch and one giant carp later, we headed back to tell our tales to the ladies at home.

It was a good day. We can’t wait to head back…

Well, I wish I could go fishing… I haven’t been since 2003! Rick & My Honey moon was the last time. We didn’t get anything, but I’m sure Rick didn’t mind. Since he doesn’t like fish.. :-P
I love fishing, it’s so relaxing, & peaceful. Maybe Rick will wanna go some day..

Just got back from deep sea fishing in Florida, and plan to go about once a week once the weather permits

When I was just a wee lass, me father used to take me ‘round the docks a bit. I ne’r liked it as a lass but as I grew I learned to appreciate it more and more. I love the feeling of sun kissin’ my face and water running ‘neath my big rubber boots. Even if ya don’t catch noth’n, t’ain’t much else a-better than standin’ ‘round outside all day. But I haven’t gone in quite a spell. I need some serious time to reconnect with my inner angler.

When I’m sitting on the dock, line in the water, wind softly blowing ripples across the river…..I am at peace. I don’t know why, I just am. I can’t explain why I enjoy fishing so much. Perhaps it’s that opportunity to connect with nature or maybe it’s even a little bit of the gambler in me. I don’t know, but fishing is kinda’ like buying a scratch-off lottery ticket. Bait the hook, cast, wait…wait…wait…nibble…nibble….yes? yes? Nah, just hung up on some rock :P I love to cook, so I’m always excited to catch something I can take home and make dinner with.

fishing is the most amazing thing ever, its calming, exciting, a good time to just relax and thing about stuff. its like therapy lol. especially when you catch a big one, you could be having the shittiest day, and that could cheer anyone up. i am definatly gunna try doing this more

I’m not really a good fisherman. I need to get all my equipment together, get my license, find a good bait and technique by asking around and plan a date to go to the state park. I could use some encouragement.

I really like fishing, its fun, relaxing, i just lack the will power to get up early and go. I’m going to try to go this saturday at my local pond.
