This one’s for real. My friend just had a baby, and she’s wanted a baby for a few years now so I can only imagine how overjoyed she is.
I’m not really into babies (yet??) myself, but it’s nice to see how much joy they can bring to others.

yesterday one of my classmates told me that I have a “timeless look”. I was bracing myself to hear something about looking like a scullery maid from the 1850s or whatnot, but then he said I could pass for a 21 year old, only a bit tall for a 21 year old.
I looked at him with a laugh and just had to point out – Uh, Jason, when I was 21 I was the same height as I am now!!!
Silly rabbit!
Anyway, I figure if someone younger than you thinks you’re closer to his/her age than you are, it’s a compliment.
If someone older than you thinks you’re closer to their age, it’s also a compliment.
... I’m just bracing myself for the day when I’m teaching kids and one of them says, “You’re 33? I thought you were 45!”

I really need to add this goal. In a great mood today, loving work, looking forward to meeting the new people who are starting next week, chatting with co-workers, being really friendly and patient with callers, just generally having a great day. It makes such a difference to be in a good mood. I was in a bad mood the other day and just behaved abominably. Snapping at callers and being really impatient and intolerant with them. Same job, different day, different mood. Life is so much nicer when I’m in a good mood, both for me and for the people I deal with.

went with a friend on a little daytrip to the States to have lunch with some friends I first met in Japan. It was a lovely day and we went to the beach to “throw rocks” (they have a 2-year old).
OK, might as well admit it - I've always loved throwing rocks too!
Nice to get out of town, and good to catch up. Need to make more effort than ever to keep in touch!

Just a few days ago I was wandering around the neighbourhood where I work, and I realized that my workplace was only a few blocks from the beach – one of the most beautiful beaches in the city, actually.
So I found a great place to eat lunch (on sunny days) – on the condition that I remember to pack a lunch, because I wouldn’t have time to buy food somewhere, walk to the beach, eat, and walk back during my 1/2 hour lunch break.
The “duh!” part is because I have had this job for about 3 months already, and I could never find a decent (non-restaurant) place to sit and eat lunch.
