Today I told the receptionist at Cobham 2 years ago

that she looked pretty in pink, and she was very pleased. It was a very bright pink and I felt I had to comment on it. She was absurdly pleased. She has obviously had a hard week.

In the night I thought 3 years ago

how I was thinking yesterday that my neighbour Amanda looked great in her tailored linen shirt, and I wished I had told her so. She has a great figure. I wonder why I don’t pay compliments as much as I could? I can only assume it’s because I feel envious. But today I told her I loved her skirt, which was good because it was new.

It's quite easy for me to dole out the compliments. 3 years ago

And I am sincere about them…I just say what pops in my mind. The recepient is always flattered and it always seems to make their day. I on the other hand am learning still to take compliments. Sometimes I feel slightly embarrassed by them…especially if it is from a man. I seem to think they have an ulterior motive!

and its definitely worth doing, but I have noticed that I don’t do it on the spur of the moment, I do it after having weighed up the implications of paying a compliment, and it makes me slow.

When did I stop 3 years ago

just freely telling people I liked their clothes/hair/bag/ etc? I think maybe when I got envious – see previous goal. I suppose I must think that if I say, I like your cardigan, they might think I’m thinking, I’m envious of your lovely expensive cardigan!!

I shall break out of this trap!!

It feels good 3 years ago

when you see others feeling like they matter to you. I like putting smiles on people’s faces. :)
