Join the SCA

I’ve been attending weekly Fighter Practice / Populace in Park meetings, and this week I’ll be going to my first guild-specific meeting.

Still need to get a personae and name together.

I’ve talked to two different SCA clubs, one in Tucson that I’m hoping to visit over Thanksgiving, and one up in albuquerque that I plan to check out before the end of the semester. That, however, will be a little tricky since I may have to find a way to spend the night in the city due to my transportation limitations. At least I have a dress to wear: I bought a renaissance gown for Halloween and had a friend of mine alter it to fit me.

I can’t wait! I have been wanting to join for years. I have just been too darn busy with work and trying to pay up all my roommates lapsed bills. Now that we have moved and don’t have to pay all that extra money I can work less. I just have to go to school now. I am so excited. I will have to find a meet in Orlando. SCA here I come!! :0)

Nice bunch of people – I’m going to my second meeting tonight. Not too much to say – I’m really tired as I get to work at 7am, and so this is intruding into my bed-time, but it’s well worth it. I haven’t been able to attend anything yet because I have to make an outfit still, but now that I have a job, I can afford the material and all that.

I just switched a bunch of subscriptions so I am now getting mailing list stuff from Houston groups, in anticipation of my move.

and there was always too much other stuff to do. I’ve recently graduated with my bachelors and I’m just a mom and wife now, and I’d love to pick up this goal again, but I’m rather shy. I live in Central Santa Clara County in California and am trying to figure out who to talk to…

It’s been a few years, but as a child I really enjoyed it. As a teen I went to Pensic War twice and that was awesome!

I would love to be able to afford to join now and allow my kids enjoy this as well.

I have been in the SCA for almost 12 years. It is a lot of fun but can be all consuming. I have many hobbies I do because I am a member of the Kingdom of Calontir. Needs updating but see http://home.earthlink.net/~norseresource/

Well Im under 16 so I’ve only competed in the boffers, but I am training for rapier :) and probably should join before I am 16. Only ever been to the Great Western War and the Potrero War,been doing it for 8 years and am really interested in getting more invovlved.
