I may actually adopt a pair of rabbits when I move out instead, they are a little less high maintenance ( I owned a pair as a child)I would like to try litter training them and letting them roam a rabbit safe room maybe. Idealy I would like a white dwarf lop eared

I really adore these animals and wish to have it at home, but I’m a student now and I live in student’s dorm during the week and go home only for weekends. I don’t want my parents to care about it so I still have to wait one more year. Then I’ll finish the university (hopefully!) and I will have my own chinchilla if it will be possible… :-)

Hannah looking forward to the weekend.....
I’ve always wanted a chinchilla but understand how much hard work they are and how much care and attention they need. They also live a VERY long time and need huge cages. I’ve looked into it a lot but for now I don’t think I have enough space in my life to care for it properly.

I got my little Itsu through a private breeder. She’s very currious, quite young, and at times a little rebellious.
It’s nice that she doesn’t bite hard ever, and that occasionally she’ll relax. Sadly, she doesn’t snuggle as much as I’d like, nor awaken as early as I’d prefer, but still, I have no regrets in getting her.
There’s been some tough times dealing with a hair that got into her eye from a dust bath she took, and also getting used to the cleanup that ensues whenever I let her run around in the hallway for excersize, aside from trying to prevent her from squeezing beneath the cracks under the door jamb.
In the end, they can be alot of work, but theyre definitely worth the time you put into them. Since I’ve done plenty of research and have many resources, I would be glad to help out anyone who wants a chinchilla for a pet.

I have a chinchilla. His name is Diego. I looove him so much! but at night when I’m trying to sleep, sometimes he gets really loud trying to get out of his cage. Which he did one time! So he was just running around in my room which was not good. I couldn’t get him back in his cage for a long time, he would go under the bed, or in the closet, and sometimes I couldn’t find him at all! So then I put twistie ties on the doors to his cage, and somehow he got them off! So now I have the randomest things on his cage to keep him in! He actually almost got out this morning, but I stopped him! I love when he takes his sand baths, its really cute. Although he keeps me up at night sometimes, I would deff recommend a chinchilla for anyone as a pet!

my chinchilla was the most funniest, entertaining and hillarious animal I have ever met ^^! although she detested cuddling and human contact in general, I enjoyed my time with her a lot!

Owning a chinchilla is great if you really feel that it’s what you want to do. He’s so cute and furry and fun to watch run around. Just be sure to read up on chinchilla care, get the right foods, cage, and supplies. They’re not rabbits or guinea pigs, and their diets and habits differ from them, so they’re not good to have together. It may be tough to find one, but if you’re considering it, you might already know where one is. If you’ve got the money to spend and the ove to give, go for it and enjoy!
