I’m about to write a ton of people.
I plan on enclosing a SASE for replies, but would you suggest I also send a photograph for them to sign, or just let them send me one of their own?

I still want to do this, but it seems I`ve lost my inspiration a bit. So this is on hold for a while.

...and then left it for what it was. I`m still planning on doing this. But it seems I find it harder to convey my thoughts into English than I had expected. I have a start on my computer, but I think this will be a continuing goal. Oh and yes, I will write the letter I`m actually sending (or who knows: handing her next year on FedCon) by hand.

So I`ve been thinking for about a week to which one of the actors that I like I`m going to send the letter and I have just decided who it`s going to be: Kate Mulgrew. I know it sounds like the wrong way around, first deciding to write a letter and later deciding the recipient, but I actually got this idea while surfing through a Kate Mulgrew fansite, then forgot about it due to stress, and then remembered just now. She is not my all time favourite actress (that honour would probably go to Maura Tierney), but I find Kate an inspiring woman (yes more inspiring than my favourite actress haha) and Star Trek: Voyager has played a big role in my life. As a teen (I`m 23 now) I wasn`t really troubled or anything, but I was very unstable in my moods and my head was just a mess. I remember very clearly that watching ST:V always made me feel better. As a matter of fact, it still does. Also, it`s sort of my Star Trek. Sounds kinda weird, I know, but I got into Star Trek because of my dad. He introduced me to Star Trek: the Next Generation. So to me it feels like that`s his and in my head TNG is just linked to him.

Why Kate? She rocks. And her character on the show just embodied the strong woman. Also, I`m very touched of the way she talks about her mother`s illness (she died of Alzheimer`s). I just like her :).

Not sure when I`ll do this, I`ll see if I can start this week. I`m going to type what I want to say first and perhaps write the real letter by hand (just seems more personal).

I wrote one, but not to anyone famous. I wrote a letter to my former youth minister about how much I enjoyed him. I don’t know if it counts, so I won’t mark it done yet.

I wrote a letter to a Porn Star on TV 2 years ago

I wrote a letter to Isabella Rosaline from Cathouse on HBO. I don’t know if she is going to write back, but I really hope she does.

I just did it. Kinda.

It has been a goal of mine for a long time, but I have never been able to screw up the courage to do it. I ended up E-mailing what was sort of a fan letter to a web comic artist I really like.

The way I did it was to ask a question on behalf of a forum I am part of. For me, knowing that there was another reason for the letter beyond just being a fan letter made it easier to write and send out.

its fun 3 years ago

you prolly wont get anything back, just depends on the person. they get so many a day they dont have a chance to read them all. and they get a lot of crazies a day as well. but it is still fun and you sometimes get a autograph back
