in June (during the rainy season) and found Grenada to be wonderfully void of tourists at that time of the year. Great! I was there alone and just wanted some peace for a little while. One day I went with snorkel gear in hand to a beach just south of Grand Anse beach. The beach was absolutely empty. No one there but me. I really did feel like I was in heaven, except I was lonely. And that’s a huge emotion. Apart from being lonely, this had to be the best 3 hours of my life. Flopped back on the sand listening to the surf, seagulls, and feeling the warmth of the sun on a tropical beach. And then snorkeling into the jade-colored waters that didn’t exceed 1 1/2 times my height in depth. I really did feel at peace with myself and the world – at least for 3 hours. Some people live a lifetime without even that.
