How I did it: I use angelfire, which more than 10 years ago said it was the easiest webpage builder on the net. I knew nothing about webpages or html coding and decided to take them up on their challenge. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I had been wanting to make a website for my art and photography for the past 3 years, and because I'm a full time student, I just didn't have the time to design an elegant, professional-looking website manually. I designed several layouts, but getting content up was a struggle; so for 3 years I didn't get very far. About 4 or 5 months ago, I came across JIMDO.com, a fairly new hosting site with a quirky, unique interface that let me creat… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've spent years designing websites for myself but they've always suffered from a lack of content. They looked pretty enough though.I think I can finally say I've finished my website because I've made the content king again and used all that knowledge from all those years of messing about to ensure I can change things without changing everything! How I did it: It took awhile for me just to sit down and do it, but I think it turned out great. I got a macbook pro awhile ago and it had iweb program installed already. All I had to do was get the domain name ($2.99 marked down from $9.99 on godaddy.com) and a hosting site ($99/year at mobileme.com.) Iweb is so easy so it didn't take long at all for me to finish. I couldn't stop making websites. I also did rooseveltrtc.com, mcbethswebdesign.com, rec… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had it all wrong from the start. Instead of making a website because I had something to show, I was trying to do things so I had something to put on the website.Recently I made a single web page that’d help the users of this one Chinese forum to get around the censoring system. It’s the plainest page I’ve ever made, no background, no cool javascript effects, no pictures, and yet I felt very accomplished because many are now using it.I g… Read how I did it…

quinnyk is getting ready for adulthood
I had my website domain & hosting ever since 2006 while I was in college for my Multimedia degree. I had this same splash page that I have done ever since the beginning. With school, working and now a child, I never had the time to actually sit down, design, code and execute a personal website for myself. I have done a portfolio website for myself but it only can be accessed by knowing the sub-domain it’s linked to.
Since my graduation in 2008, I have created 4 websites and worked on 2 websites for contract jobs but still my home-page is just blah. So now that I have a couple weeks left of nothing to do till my new job starts, I will launch my personal website to the world. Don’t worry 43Thingers, you’ll be the first to know.
I always have good ideas, but when it comes to realise them it isn’t so easy… I’m too lazy and I prefer spending time pointlessy in internet to doing SOMETHING ;]
I have already a website, but it hasn’t been updated for a long, long time AND I have a project of new design which is in about 80% ready AND i can’t, I really can’t mobilize myself… ;]

Oh gosh, I’ve started to create a website so many times I think I lost count, everytime it doesn’t get past the splashpage status even though I paid for hosting etc. time and time again. I WILL FINISH IT!

I’m nowhere near finished with the site, but I’m done with a good chunk of it. I thought that this would put me at the halfway mark, but while I was working on this, I added a new section. So now I have to update the navigation bar on a dozen other pages. More work; darn. But I’m moving forward :)
So I have finally got one of the website’s live in time for the company’s 4th bday…
I still have my fashion and portraiture one to do, but it’s a start….
Still cant cross off this goal though!
I’m a bit of guy with head in the clouds.
I do whatever I want to, and then I do not work on it further.
I have that especially with making websites.
But I’m right now finishing the “basics” of my personal website.
Just I did completed all of pieces of previous websites I didn’t finished, such as logos, buttons etc.

This project is going to take a long time to finish. The site I’m working on is going to be a huge directory & knowledgebase, so there is a lot of work involved. The design part is done, I’m just stuggling with the content; I have to do a lot of research and writing and organizing of information.
Large projects like this can be daunting in the beginning; I have to keep telling myself to keep working on it, one page at a time. Breaking the goal into smaller tasks has helped me get started, but sometimes it seems like it will take forever to finish, and that makes it hard.

poisonpen asks,
“I have a forum with proboards and I would like to add a page to it that is a list, similar to the lists at lists of bests. However, I would like this list to have a skin I can customise to match the design of my layout. Anyone know how i can do this?”

“Which is easier: to use a flash template and upload it to a web hosting site or use the template provided by the host and add the flash features on that template?”
